Should be a fierce camp battle. We need a hefty back that can carry load if Thomas goes down and we need speed as well.
How much could baby Barber have left? Is he still fast enough? He is 36 and hasn't played since he was 31 when he put up 1600 yards. Prob a huge long shot.
I am voting for speed.....Thomas Bush Sheets and Grigsby...but I think Hilliard makes it bc of size and Sheets and Grig battle it out for 4th spot....gives us two big backs and two scats
I am sure they are doing their due diligence here. Injuries occur and by working him out they will know whether they are going that route in an emergency.
However, if they were to sign him, I would be disappointed because as I have repeatedly said, I'm looking forward to seeing more of Nic Grigsby.
Me too! We haven't had speed at RB position since RW and his 1800 yard season...now we have three and two work horses...although I think we could do better than Hilliard.
what a stupid move this would be if we signed him. do we really need a rusty 30+ year old backup RB? I agree we'd be better off with Harrison or some other hungry young guy who could also play ST for cheap. there is no coherence to any of the moves we are making
I agree. Don't get me wrong on Ricky. I agreed with what he said at the end of last season. Same for Brandon Marshall (but he's still here, of course, because Ireland was the one that brought him in). This is starting to remind me of the Cam Cameron days when players nearly started a mutiny against the coach. This franchise has lost its confidence...lost its swagger. The owner doesn't trust the coach. The players don't trust the coach. The coach and players don't trust the QB. The GM is pulling at straws (shades of Rick Spielman). It's a mess, and the only thing that may fix it is a new owner and completely new organization. I'd really hate to go through that AGAIN...but I don't see an alternative.

our MO has been to avoid older "progress stoppers" that might otherwise seem to be good fits on the team. now we give some old relic who has been out of the league for 2 years and quit on his former team a tryout at RB--still a position of need no matter what anyone might say---when there are solid younger players out there. makes no sense at all.
agreed I didn't want edwards either
