I agree with you Dolfanmark...

The question is how much will Ireland give up to save the season and their jobs.

I read today that Palmer and Kolb will require a first...Young and McNabb a third and Flynn a second.

The only player that fits the mold they like and is proven is Palmer.

Get this f...ing lockout over now!

A few has beens and a lot of never weres (kind of like Henne). Deja vu all over again. Passing on QB's in the draft, and talking about which retread to try out...Ugh... Another lost season 'waiting for Henne to develop'. I need a drink already.

Dennis Dixon is the only guy on the initial list that I might be interested. He looked good for a young qb when he had his chances.

Dixon was tendered as well....

Rumor is if we can't get Palmer it will be Bulger....who some say that the year off was great for rehabbing his body and mind after taking a beating in STL.

Not a lot of options out there for a pulling guard...Justin Blaylock from ATL is one though.

Depending on whether Sparano things Incog can be an effective pulling guard...prob better to be plugged in and left at RG.

Same goes for pass rusher...not many studs out there....Matt Roth is available but not likely here. Other than too high priced Charles Johnson.....

We need to find a quality gem (ala Davone Bess) in the class of undrafted fa's.

I saw an article that mentioned Pouncey as a pulling guard. If Incognito could handle Center, may be an option?

I read that Pouncey offers more versatility at center where he can pull to both sides. Center is also the premium position and after being picked so high....I am betting he gets first shot at C.

Ireland already announced that Pouncey is already penciled in as our starting Center.

Henne or bust. Bring in any relatively cheap free agent to serve as a back-up this year. Give Henne his last shot to lead the franchise. If he does well then that is great, but if he does poorly then we should have an early selection. At that point, draft one of next year's top quarterbacks and look to the future.

There he goes again...penciling guys in and announcing it. Henne was penciled in as our starter last off season. What good did THAT do us. I really wish Sparano would stop making these kinds of announcements.

Well our center stunk last year...

We picked up a so called great talented Center in the first round.

I dont see nothing wrong with him saying he is penciled in as our starting center.

I forgot, if he had long penciled in as a starting tackle in his rookie year?

He probably did.

If Pouncy is not our starting center on day 1, then we are in a lot of trouble with this draft pick. He was the highest C drafted in more than a decade, by a large margin. First round Cs are expected to be Pro Bowlers, and quickly.

I just hope Pouncy doesn't crumble under the pressure. The expectations are really high for him not only because of where he was drafted but also because of his brother.

And of course pencilling him in as the starting center before he has even engaged in one practice play doesn't help relieve the pressure.

He went 3 picks higher than his brother, from just a year ago. That's hardly a large margin.

And if he winds up being a G, so be it. Mike Iupati was taken at #17 a year ago. Taking interior linemen in the middle of the first round is not unheard of.

I truly hope thats not the case. I wish for him to become a pro bowl center. We been lacking a good center for a while. And thats the most important position on the OL.

We get a pro bowl center of this and the whole OL improves i dont care whos playing guard.

I find it funny that people on this board are bashing Dolphin players, and taking up for patsie players.

In his two starts one in preseason against us lol, and the other last game of the season against Philly McGee from Dallas won both.

He has 2 TD's to 0 int's lol, and no INT in the preseason game.

We should go after him, he look decent in his limited playing time sitting behind Romo and Kitna.

RESPONSE: Are you talking about this thread or another thread?

I re-read this thread and all it talked about was Henne and Pouncey.

Yes, I was talking about you Chyren. You and treasure are still talking about Ryan Mallett and he is a patriot. Just to let you know, bud.

I wouldn't mind Bulger as insurance for a Henne meltdown/1 year stop-gap measure.

I think Bulger is probably the guy that it winds up being. As long as none of the other "QB needy" teams don't decide that he is their guy, too.

Palmer is the best one available. But, the issue is what you have to give up, if Cincy will trade him at all. On Sirius, a couple of the guys have suggested that the Bengals owners are so mad at Palmer for doing this, they would prefer to force him into retirement, rather than be strong armed into dealing him elsewhere. The bottom line is that Palmer has not been the same guy he was before his knee injury. How much of that is on him, and how much of it is a declining supporting cast in Cincy? Are you willing to give up a first or second pick to find out? I'm not.

The Kevin Kolb thing is ridiculous. The Eagles created this market for him by getting rid of McNabb. People are like, "Kolb must be good, they got rid of McNabb in favor of him." Yet, he has done nothing on the field to warrant the hype. This is brilliant manipulation by the Eagles. Let's hope we are not the team that falls for it. All I can say is, "remember AJ Feeley."

At the worst, Bulger comes in and is a veteran mentor for Henne. If Bulger has been revitalized by his year off, like Kurt Warner was, then he is more than legitimate competition for Henne. And you can get him cheaply.

You can't force this QB thing. You need a franchise guy. But, when there aren't any available, in the draft or free agency, you can't force it. If you do, that's how you wind up with trading for AJ Feeley or Daunte Culpepper or drafting Ryan Leaf or Brady Quinn. It may not be want fans want, but in a year when half of the offseason has already been lost, sticking with Henne and pairing him with a veteran like Bulger may make the most sense of any move they could make.

People just need to move on, Chyren. Thats all I am trying to say at this point.
