For the Phins first pick only.

Assume no trades, who would you pick at 15 and why?

I'll say Mark Ingram.

# 1 choice. Cam Newton. He will be a top ten QB in the NFL. His work ethic, underrated passing ability, and leadership will catapult him to the top. But he needs proper coaching. Not confident that these coaches are gonna be able to provide that but it's worth the risk.

# 2 choice. Aldon Smith or Akeem Ayers. A top OLB to give depth at a position of strength. You can never have enough pass rushers. Cam Wake is an excellent leader for a young guy to learn from.

# 3 choice. Nate Solder or Gabe Carimi. An addition to the offensive line to help steady the ship for the next decade at OT. Interior O line is a bigger need but no one worth the pick at 15.

Although, I would honestly be shocked to see Miami sit at 15 unless an elite player somehow falls into their lap and they have to draft him. All the players in positions of need will be drafted in the top 10 (Qcool smiley or will be available in the early second round (RB, Oline, WR).

As long as an impact player is drafted then I don't really care about the position.

1. Robert Quinn - Absolute star and IMO opinion the best player in this draft. Hands down. A star. Next Lawrence Taylor.

2. Blaine Gabbert or Cam Newton.

3. Nate Solder.

4. Rahim Moore.

THere is only 1 choice if we were smart Mike Pouncey florida (g/c). We need to be able to run the ball and protect our qb with proper blitz pick up. If we cant run we will finish 500 again.

No brainer. Expecially when you look at the kind of impact his brother is having at pittsburg. Also they are identical twins so they have identical genetics, you cant beat that for bloodline...

Trade down and pick up a 2nd rounder this draft is deep with all of the players declaring early that we should be able to fill all of our holes through free agency and the draft. Then take best available player regardless of position in each round when we pick that would help us become better alot faster.

I would agree, Cam Newton, Blaine Gabbert of Mark Ingrahm if we stay at 15 or move up...
If that is not possible, Then I would say to trade back into the late 20's and pick up a 2nd rd pick and pick up Pouncey, to help solve the guard back up center issues...

If we stayed at 15 I would cry. If we took a QB at 15 I would really cry. If we took Ingram I wouldnt cry, but be upset.

I would believe that if we didnt trade down, that next year is going to be a long crappy season.

We have to many holes and not enough picks to justify keeping the 15th overall, especially since Luck will be available next year. Oh yeah!!!!!!!

I wouldnt cry as long if we took the best center in this draft at 15.

Everyone should participate so that we can see whose thinking most closely mirrors what the team ultimately ends up doing. Ghoti is excused because he thinks there will be no football.

Yeah, the reason I said no trade downs because it gets murky then as you are then trying to say who we would pick in the 2nd round.

I am not saying that we will NOT trade down but asking you do you think we will pick if we do not trade down.

I would love to see that scenario. I agree with you and Reppa in that Pouncey is one of the most logical and safe picks out there. He is already performing well at the combine. With the success of his brother, you can't miss with this guy. From what I have seen, he has done better than his bro in the combine and he does have the identical genetic code and same upbringing. In short, he has both the nature and nurture to be dominant.

I am hoping we take Casey Matthews in this draft.

I think he will be an impact player in this league. Plus, we need an upgrade over Crowder (sorry, Crowder52 thumbs up).

I like Hankerson in the 3rd, Weslye Saunders instead of Housler....lets not forget people, Housler barely held onto his starting job in college. He was almost beaten out numerous times. He is only fast. Thats it.

Julio Jones will slide to 15 and should be taken. He won't be however and obscure player we have not heard of will be drafted so our GM can say he knew he smoke screened everyone.

Trading Down

In looking at the point chart our # 15 equates to Denvers #36 & #46
I could see this happening

I would give up Hartline for a third or fourth and try to pick up another pick and something different from Bess & Marshall
The Rams could use him, Denver might also

Coming out with 36, 46, 78, 79 & 110 in the first 4 could land us 5 of:

RB Leshoure, Williams, Murray, Hunter,Thomas

WR Titus Young, Jernigan, Cobb, Smith, Baldwin, Hankerson, Niles Paul

QB Mallet? Kaepernick, Ponder, Dalton

OL Wisniewski, Demarcus Love, Jake Kirkpatrick, marcus Cannon(strong!!),
Tim Barnes , Ryan Bartholomew

TE Virgil green, Luke Stocker

D Dontay Moch ,Casey matthews, Sione Fua,

pick a a few guys like Bradford Shorts, Quizz, Powell, Locke, Da rel Scott, Ridley , White, mayee Sala or maehl in later rounds and we could have a solid draft

I heard Bulger has looked real good, might be a vet to work with a rokie for a year or two

Trade down with the Packers.

1. Mike Pouncey
2. Ryan Mallett or Colin Kaepernick (whoever is available)
3. Demarco Murray or Mikel Leshoure (if Leshoure is there)
4. Clay Matthews little brother

take best player available after Clay's little brother with every pick.

It makes sense if we pick up a true speed WR that can start (a FA, NOT a draft pick). The assumption is the speed guy would start opposite Marshall with Bess in the slot. That pushes Hartline to the #4 spot, but he's FAR too talented to be a #4 receiver. At that point he'd be more valuable as a trade than wasting away in such a limited role.

It all comes down to the fact that Marshall and Hartline are BOTH possession receivers. Marshall has unique abilities that create mismatches. Hartline is solid but not much more. If we had a super speed guy (like Randy Moss used to be), then we could pair Hartline with someone like that and trade Marshall. If the speed guy becomes our #2 option (just fly patterns to stretch the defense, but not a pro-bowl WR), then keeping Marshall makes more sense.

Either way, I don't see Marshall and Hartline coexisting unless we completely change our offense and go, perhaps, to a west-coast system.
