Jake Delhomme will be the miami dolphins new starting qb next yr, due to the fact he knows Daboll's system, and he is someone that brian daboll is comfortable with.
Dolphins qb's has follows
Starter Jake Delhomme back up Chad hene, thigpen will be traded
the dolphins will draft Jake locker in the first rd or take
a flyer Jerrod Johnson

I'm perplexed about Delhomme. He seemed destined for at the very least a decent career in Carolina and all of a sudden he flamed out and fast. Like a comet hitting the atmosphere. Poof. Was it injury?

This could work, I know Delhomme has struggled the last couple years for no apparent reason, but if we are gonna bring in a veteran to push Henne why not him, he'll come cheap and for free.
He only had the 1 year in Cleveland correct? Give him another year with Daboll, I mean Cutler didn't start meshing with Martz until this the 2nd year so hell why not?
All this while taking a flyer on Locker I'm all for it.
Jake signed a hefty contract extension, & then he started playing poorly. Then he broke his finger, so then backup Matt Moore started lighting it up which led to Jake's release. Moore ended up getting the starting job, but then he got a concussion at the beginning of the season & ended up like a scud missile that was shot out of the sky when he came back to play.
Jake Delhomme is very inconsistent. He blew so many games by throwing picks galore which drove Panther fans nuts. Please don't wish this guy onto this team. He's nothing more than an older version of Chad Henne.

Delhomme had a couple of world class receivers in Smith and Muhammad, and quite a RB tandem in Foster and Davis. IMO, Steve Smiths injuries and absence contributed the most to Delhommes downfall. Smith was a BEAST in the early 00's, he would go get a lot of balls that probably should have been INT's.
That having been said, Delhomme was WORLDS past Henne during his prime, I'm just not sure with his age and the Tommy Johns surgery his prime isn't gone.
If you look as a whole, Delhomme only had one bad year while injury free.

Actually, Delhomme is not familiar with the OC's system. He threw 2 TD's and 7 INT's last year. Per those stats, he should brush up on the playbook. I still can't believe we lost that game to the Browns. We crapped our season out into the toilet with the Bears game, then we flushed the crap down against the Browns

Agreed, also I was surprised at how he adapted to using the TE more in Chicago, I thought for sure Olsen would be a goner when he showed up.
