I think as a general rule of thumb, we are overly-critical of ourselves and as such, the teams we root for.

When you know yourself, you know your flaws and tend to magnify them, and forget that others have flaws, too. People are good at hiding their weaknesses, and are even better at displaying their strengths. When we compare this team to others in the league, it's easy to think we don't stack up, but the more I read about what unbias people think about this team (and others), the more I like our chances.

We are getting a lot of respect in the media lately. They aren't chanting "DOLPHINS" from the rooftops, but the general consensus is that we are a "smart, tough" football team. Even the perennial hater, Mike Florio has been tipping his hat to us lately.

I don't know if we're SuperBowl bound this year, but I know that just 3 short years ago the idea of just winning a few games seemed like a longshot, and now we're talking about the playoffs.

In a "what have you done for me today" league, I want to take a minute to recognize the work this staff has done. They're not perfect, and they never will be, but they made the Phins relevant again, and I truly appreciate it, because I f-cking LOVE football.

Yea but dude get real. We want a playoff calibre team that can go deep into the playoffs and we're still short of that. We used to be that type of franchise years ago and for the last twenty years we've floundered. That is why we are so critical, because this franchise was once great and now it's mediocre with a musical chairs of players and coaches.

Nice post Futt, and you are 100% correct on your observations of this team and the job the front office has done in a short 3 years.

We;ve had a tough schedule, and failed to mount the finish that could have us on top in several key games.

I can't feel like we are top tier at this point because we have finsihed weak in several games we were competititve and could have won.

1. PIT, for get the goal line call, look at the fact that we couldn't go get 3 points with over 2minutes, and that we chose to use out last imeout. Not pretty.

2. Tennesse game was a mold breaker in that we finished the game. Bad news is that we took a lot of injuries that may put a lesser team on the field. I do hope the leadership and spirit to win stays.

3. The schedule has been tough, and won't be a cake walk, but will be easier thsan it has been.

4. If we expect to do something in th playoffs were going to have to show it within the division against NE & the Jets at their houses.

Well as the season goes on each team gells more and more, and younger players start to click, so yeah each team is improving, but the biggest games that really have any merrit to our team is the 3 divisional games.

I don't know if you can take this kind of observation to the bank in as far as it pertains to what kind of team we are, but all of the teams that we have suffered losses to this year are all currently ranked in the top 5 of ESPN's Power Rankings. We lose yes, but we lose to top teams. The old adage is that to be the best you have to beat the best though. I guess what I'm saying is yea we have lost games, but those losses aren't to teams we are expected to beat by the media.

I guess I've had a false perception for years....even at our best we couldn't beat the Jests, Patsies, Ravens, Steelers....good teams....we are average at best.
