They were dropping everyone into zone. Every receiver was triple covered. There's just no room in that situation, with no threat of trying to run the ball.
Normally, I am of the thinking that I'd rather lose by a lot than lose a close one. But they really played well overall. Gave up a few too many big plays on D. I'm impressed with Henne even though most of this board isn't. The D who we relied on so much for the first two games couldn't win it for us this time.
Overall, losing sucks, losing at home sucks. Losing at home to the JETS sucks out loud. But this team does have potential. If we bounce back and take the Pats next week I'll be happy with 3-1

Too many missed opportunities. Kendall Langford had a chance with that shovel pass. Where was the pass rush tonight? It was non-existent. And our OLB were completely exposed as not being able to defend the run at all. And I think they have to consider scrapping the wildcat. And Ricky has had serious ball security issues since the end of last season. If he can't hold on to the ball, his playing time needs to be reduced.

Yeah that hurt to watch. On the replay I could see that he jumped up with both arms hoping to deflect the pass with his fingertips--then surprise! Hits him in the bread basket. His reflexes just couldn't adjust from both arms being fully extended to catching the pass thrown right at his torso. I'm sure he feels really bad about it but that play would have been tougher to make than it looked.

The pass rush was weak, but hardly non-existent. We would have had at least 2 sacks if not for holding on the Jets.

Blocking was great for the Jets, but Dobbins played horrible. We NEED Crowder back!!!

Agreed!!

Ricky has ALWAYS had fumble issues. He's not Sammy Smith, but he has tended to fumble when he runs into a crowd.
What do people think about the roughing penalty that extended a Jets touchdown drive?
I am seeing this call made more and more. I think it is horrific. I think Jim Irsay needs to come off of the competition and rules committee's because I am sick of the rules being made to make Peyton Manning better. The call was correct as the rule is written, but the rule as written is basically that if the receiver doesn't make the catch, the incoming defensive player can't even defend himself if it looks like he might be making a tackle. I hate this crap and I am starting to hate this league. Players deserve some protection of course but the more you make stupid rules like this, the more the players are going to stretch it and put themselves in position to be hurt.

I agree 100%. No way Ronnie Lott is a HoFer...or even a Pro-Bowler...with rules like these. That was a perfectly good hit in my book. The call took the wind out of our sails and gave the Jets momentum. Take away that call and it's a different game.
I hate to sound like a broken record but it seems to me that the refs caught every infraction we committed and were blind to several (not all but at least several) by the Jets.

If they make a call on the phins then its gotta be equal they gotta call the one where the jets DT headbutted ronnie brown.
If the refs are equal to both teams then i have no problem with it calling that penalty at all.
Dolphan 1, I opened the door for conversation regarding the play of Henne, he has a great deal of support "See "QB change" for poll results and comments, maybe we're missing something the majority is seeing in his play, I travel 4 hours every home game one way and have plenty of time to reflect on the play of the Dolphins, keep me posted
