There were 4 main reasons for our success 2 years ago:
1. A weak schedule (consequence of only winning 1 game the previous year)
2. The Wildcat (we introduced it, and we ran it best)
3. Brady injured (so the AFC East was wide open)
4. A smart QB that didn't make mistakes and didn't lose games for us
Those of you that want to credit Pennington ONLY for the '08 season need to go back and watch those games. The reason why Penny won't win for us now:
1. Stronger schedule
2. Teams have figured out the Wildcat
3. Brady is back..and the Jets have improved as well
A smart caretaker-type QB that doesn't make mistakes will help us win SOME games, but we will NOT go far in that scenario.
Pennington has the same problem he had when he got here...his arm is not good enough. It was NOT good enough in 08 even though he did play really well for us that year, and I thank him for that.
His arm is even worse now...the long TD pass he threw this preseason illustrates this perfectly. He threw the ball around 35 yards, give or take a couple...and it was obvious from watching the throw that he was not going to throw it much farther.

So that makes it OK to throw the ball to the other team? I know Baltimore was a better team, but that is no excuse to throw 4 INT's.

Some teams have. Baltimore can stop it. Jets in that 2nd game last year had it figured out. Pretty much any team that is smart enough to "blitz" the wildcat can stop it.
The teams I see struggle with it the most nowadays are the NFC teams. Which is odd and I don't understand why.
