When you have to go back 17 years to find one example in a non-salary cap era....that proves my point

Rather be good for years to come than gamble on old players like the jets

This not a major issue. 8 players in one year isn't crazy. That would only be a major issue if they all turned into very good players and therefore left for free-agency. I don't know about you, but I hope we end-up having that problem.
Well we end up with a young team and we lost a first and a third round draft choice for no return in trade value. Pretty bitter sweat since our third rounder will probably flourish at the Jets after being re-united with his old college QB and being motivated by Jason Taylor. Also, we have problems at CB, FS, TE, and a kick returner after trading off Ginn (1st round draft choice) earlier. Oh and there's still that nose tackle experiment to deal with this season for not picking up Dan Williams in the draft. Also, Martin is off to the Bills with our offensive playbook, just in time for opening day.
I hope the money we spent on Dansby and Marshall is going to pay off this season, otherwise we're in for a world of hurt due to the actions of this FO.
After the first six games, I pray I'll be eating my words.

I wasn't worried about him being any good, but since you put it this way, it is obvious that he will be a hall-of-famer one day. Jason Taylor sure can motivate those receivers!

Actually what I'm trying to say is that the Jets probably have more veterans in their locker room to movtivate players than we do, especially after we just let Taylor go to the Jets, and yes I'm sure Patrick Turner knows him from Miami.

Its easy to just mention all of the negatives and to forget the positives.. TUrner was wasted pick but the FO, has plucked Davone Bess for nothing, along with Marlon Moore and Roberto Wallace for nothing.. We did waste a pick on Pat White but we got, TYler THigpen for "a bag of balls"(borrowing Mikes line), and didnt waster a high draft pick or salary on our starting QB.. The FO picked Jake Long while our counterparts in New York chose Vernon Gholston with a top 5 pick....
Every year, you hope to add a few good to great players to your Organizations, and by all means this Regime has done that. No organization or FO nails every pick every year, that is unfair and unrealistic expectations... I think this Regime has done a good job adding some great players every year... From trades, FA, undrafted and drafted players.. We still do have question marks as you mentioned, but considering we were 1-15 just a mere 3 years ago. I think you should cut the FO some slack, and be appreciative for what they have accomplished to this point....pretty remarkable
