If, as you say, he IS an above average ST guy, I have to agree with you. In that case, what we lose on STs would more than be made up in other ways. That said, however, right or wrong, I have a higher opinion of JAllen's CB skills than you do.

Yeah, I'm the only one who thinks Jason Allen stinks. A guy who has been beaten out by guys the likes of Gabril Wilson, Benny Sapp, Rashead Jones, Tyrone Culver, and Nate Jones the past 2 years for meaningful jobs on our defense. Yeah I'm the crazy one who is still defending Jason Allen.

You guys probably also think Pat White and Ted Ginn are good players

I don't think Allen is "good" but he's "decent" and not "horrible."

If he is "decent" then how come he can't win a job? It wasn't like this Dolphins team the past few years was loaded with tons of talent in the secondary! How come he can't get playing time on defense under 3 different head coaches. Saban, Cam, Sparano.

He can't play defense. He fills a role as a special teams player. Some of you say he is our "best" special teams player. I have never heard that about him or seen anyone else say that. Pretty much saying he is a solid special teams player is the ONLY compliement anyone or any coach can give this guy....so that one compliement has been blown up out of proportion.

Only time will tell but IMHO Sapp is here because Carrol showd that he is not ready to start in any rle on Sat. Reason #2 Sapp is here our special team coverage sucked on Sat aside from J Allan. We need more head hunters on ST.

Agree. The fact that the thread has devolved into an Allen bashing is kind of humorous.

While I agree that if Jason Allen could play CB, he'd be playing, it doesn't mean we wouldn't have made this trade. We have serious issues at DB right now, and Sapp goes towards solving this problem. We also need Will Allen back, and we need a FS.

yeah gibril wilson and jason allen have a lot in common....as in they both suck............

I dont like the camarillo trade at all.

Maybe pat turner is developing nicely.

I have to admit i have not much time to concentrate on the phish this year but the season is here and i cant wait until sept when the games start. Id be glued to the tv.

Camarillo was not going to make the team. At the very least, we got an experienced player in for a look. If he pans out, then that is great. If he ultimately gets cut, then there was nothing lost because Camarillo was low man on the wr totem pole. Lets just hope we don't get a sudden rash of injuries to our receiver core. If it happens to the CBs then we might be thankful we brought this guy in.

Exactly. It's a numbers game and with the addition of Sapp.....Jason Allen fell one spot on the totem poll.

Ok Jason Allen has looked pretty solid this pre-season as a CB.

I dont know what this new guy will bring.

I do know Im not thrilled, and I don't expect much.

I would have rather gotten a 6th round, pick or somthing instead of this guy, HOWEVER I will keep a open mind and hope for the best!

Jason Allen isnt as bad as some people on here think.

He isnt great by any stretch, but I have a sense that this is his break out year.

Just a hunch, just like the Pat White won't be let go, instead we trade Pennington, or Thigpen, I dont know just can't shake it.

I do a decent job of getting these things right, just like I said we would draft white, smith, and Davis, and said we could get somthing out of Camarillo.

Now Ive also been wrong too, but when I get a gut feeling, It's usually pretty good.

The feeling Im getting with this trade is not too good.

The thing making me ok with it, is again we now have the ability to keep some more WR'S.

Turner, and Wallace, and I can maybe see Pruitt.

There is being loyal to the phins and then their is being blinded by the phins. Camarillo was only valuable to us he is an ok WR and that was all he was going to be. I liked the guy, the Vikings needed a WR and we needed a CB so we get this guy Sapp. Maybe he is good maybe he is not but we probably did Camarillo a favor.

As for Allen, anybody who still thinks this guy is good is on drugs or is blind. He is garbage

I agree that we probably did Camarillo a favor. He wasn't going to get any playing time unless Bess got hurt, and he got traded early enough that he can probably make the Vikings roster.

I'll always love the guy for "the catch."

Favor? Absolutely! He's going to a team with a future HoF QB that was a heartbeat from the Superbowl last year! They also have the best RB in the league!! Only bummer for him is the winters in Minnesota. A bit different from Miami.

Not when your playing inside like a bunch of girls, not weathering the season like men.
