Gregg Camarillo traded to the Minnesota Vikings. Miami got CB Benny Sapp in return
Tells me the team is keeping Marlon Moore and Patrick Turner. Wallace to practice squad. This tells me the Fins have serious questions about Will Allen as Sapp is a true nickle CB. Also tells me Nolan Carroll getting toasted by the Jags won't play much CB at all this year. And it might mean its the end of Jason Allen in Miami.

I think we keep 6 WRs this year, that means Wallace, Moore, and Turner all make the 53. Also, I think Jason Allen will remain on the team because he can play STs and backup any DB position.
Agree that it means Will Allen's recovery is not going well.
I don't know anything about Sapp but if he can play at all this is a good trade. Camarillo's skills are too duplicative of Bess' and we didn't really need another sure-handed slow guy. We do, however, need CBs in the big way if allen can't come back soon, and the same.

We just keep 6 WRs on the 53 man roster.
Wallace is big and fast. I just don't see him lasting long on the PS.

Sapp was one of the guys HARD KNOCKS keyed in on when they did it with KC a few years back. In 2008 he played a lot for Minny. Was their nickle back after an injury. In 2009 Sapp started some. Just this past offseason Minny gave him a 2 year extension.
Put it this way, Sapp is the 4th best CB on our roster. If Will Allen is seriously out for a while, he is our 3rd best CB now!

the next big hole to fill which I think can and will be filled with a low level type move like this one is for a KR or PR. I gotta think there are some teams who would move their KR for a 5th (ha!) or 6th rounder. as long as that guy could play some other position (DB or WR or R I think he's got a spot on the team. Our return game is pathetic and I don't see Carroll as an upgrade.

Yup. Don't see him challenging for a starting spot, but without Sapp we would be going into the season with 2 two CBs and a rookie Nickle. I could see us losing a lot of third and longs in that scenario. At least now our Nickle package is respectable. Not great, but respectable.

That may answer your question. PFT is not a good source for player evaluation.

If I were to wager, I say we are keeping 6 WRs this year and only will only carry 8 LBs.
Regarding Sapp I'm taking the coaches & front office are better judges than me view. I do not see him as an upgrade over J. Allan. I can only see them wanting a veteran ove Carrol who has showed that, while he is talented he may not be ready for immediate PT.
Minnesota got gold we got beans so far on this one

Hard to see what Camarillo offered beyond "experience and depth" at the WR position.
He was clearly the 4th best WR on the team, and at least one of our rookie WRs could have overtaken the #4 WR spot by the end of the season.
Sapp last year was playing very well as the Vikings NICKLE CB. When they had an injury and he was forced to start, he struggled.
Play him in the nickle, the role built for him, he is a better than average player. Ask him to do MORE than he can, and well don't be shocked when he fails.

Exactly, and wasn't even the 4th WR anymore. Look Camarillo has never been the same since his knee injury. He is a slow WR which in this league doesn't mix. He has played well for Miami because, we haven't had anyone else.
Last year this time our WR's were Ginn, Camarillo, Bess. Ginn is horrible and Camarillo is getting beat out by 2 undrafted guys in camp. Camarillo only "looked good" because he was on the one team that had zero depth and quality at WR.
That changed this offseason and a lower level WR like Camarillo is gone!
