Field is an embarrasment...

Any team that still shares a stadium with a baseball team is 2nd rate.
i hate to think of my beloved organization as such, but it's true.
I've hated our field ever since the Marlins came into the picture.
Mix in a little seasonal rain, and it becomes an absolute JOKE!!
Get the malins the F out of there!!!

This is why the city of Miami and the Dolphins will NEVER host a Super Bowl again.

Put a roof on it!!!!

Got soaked at the game... The Marlins will be gone soon and there will be no more issues... The Fins should be able to use this as a Home field advantage but practice in the bubble does not get ya ready for this...

The field sort of ruined the game for me... I'm up in Central Florida, so it is bad enough I have to listen to the Bucs announcers, but to see such a crappy field is not only embarrassing, it was frustrating.

1. Total embarassment, we should schedule all games away

2. Guess what the other teams have to play in it too. No excuses.

BINGO!! The weather didn't slow down a Tampa team that was 3-13 last year. NO EXCUSES!!

This is year 3 for this group and that means....no excuses allowed !!

It's not just an embarrasment...it is dangerous.

We have to endure two more seasons of this foolishness. And then we will start to witness what a top rate field looks like.

Go with sport turf, put a tray in to hold the dirt for the infield, remove it and replace it with the sport turf when the phins play, end of story.

the answer is simple, ADD A ROOF!

For a city who prides itself on holding super bowls by not adding a roof they will NEVER get a Super Bowl again. The NFL has told them point blank!

Any of the above suggestions will not happen until the Marlins leave after next baseball season. Not enough time (and maybe available resources) to implement any major change. I seriously doubt they'd put down turf, since this climate is ideal for natural grass (and is probably cheaper-definitely better for the players health).Adding the partial roof will probably happen, but cannot until they have a month or 3 to be able to do that. With the Marlins playing here, there is simply not enough guaranteed time after football season (including the Orange Bowl) until baseball starts. to ensure it could be properly installed. If the Dolphins don't host any playoff games, and baseball has the Marlins have a late opening series at home, it might be enough time, but again, no guarantees either (or both) could happen.
I think Stephen Ross will build the partial roof, but it won't be for a couple of years.
I was at the game, and aside from the muddy infield, the field stayed in great condition. The field drains very quickly, and there were no major divits on the field after the rain. The problem is the dirt infield, and there is nothing that can (or will) be done until baseball stops being played there.
For those of you who want a dome over JRS, I guess you enjoy watching the Lions and Vikings lose their home field advantage that GB, Buffalo, and Chicago have. Even Seattle realized the weather could be an advantage, and now play in an open air stadium.

I just imagine those players from the past scoffing at the pretty-boy image the NFL is putting forth now. Remember when players were SUPPOSED to get dirty? Remember when there was more mud than grass on some football fields?

Oh they'd better not do that. Then they'll be labeled as Angry Old Men Who Can Never Get Into The HOF Because They Said Something Negative About Today's Players.

You know, I think that rings a bell! I also remember when they were supposed to hit the quarterback, and bump receivers. Or maybe I'm thinking of a different game altogether. It was so long ago.

Totally agree, you are at least 4-5 years away from a roof being added. But I think the middle-opened Cowboys Stadium type roof they are thinking about would serve everyone best. Fans would be covered from the rain. Field would be under the sun for the most part and also be open to keep the "heat" and "humidity" hot weather home field advantage.

I dont want a roof, good god go root for the cowgirls, if you wana roof.

Im not a big fan of the infield, but Im getting the LAST MUD games you will ever witness as fans of the game, so enjoy the 60 year old tradition of playing in the mudd while it last.

I think the stadium is beautiful, of course all I can go by is pictures, and television.

Again I love tradition, and these last few years, will go by fast, so enjoy the mud, because it won't last, and please say no to the roof.

I am a season Ticket holder and I am at every home game, I love the open Stadium I am not that upset about the dirt, both teams have to play in it and it should actually be an advantage to us. Do not close in the stadium, I love to be part of the conditions, the Rain the heat the sun... Love it and would be pissed to see it turn into a Dallas type Stadium... It is great when you see a New England or New York De-fence gasp for air when it is 110 with 95% humidity in the stadium... And there fans that come down are also uncomfortable...

In a broke state like Florida the extra income that comes in from hosting a super bowl....trust me lots of people care. You will see a roof someday on that stadium

I get to one, maybe two games per year. A roof will be an improvement.

And I have to agree, there will be a roof. If only because Florida loves football.

I wouldnt mind a partial roof, one that covers up to the box's but I want the majority of the field not covered.

Fl isnt poor, and if it is, thats because you don't pay property tax on squat, and no tax's on food.

Plus you don't have to get your car inspected, and pay tax on it every year, and hurricanes!!!

Disny World, and Sea World do plenty for dollar revenue.

Not to mention 2 other football teams.

Covering up the entire field will be crap, and a horrible taste to the life of Florida, the tradition, and athmosphere.

Ok I don't know what you hear but we pay plenty of Taxes... I am originally from Ma. that was called Taxachusetts, and I don't see the big Tax break here... My property tax on my house is higher then it was in Ma. Yea there may be no wage state Tax, but I am some what retired so that does not matter. We dont have car Inspections but we have to register our cars every year and it is over 100 bucks a year for my Phins plate. But I agree we Have Disney Seaworld Universal and tons of Theme parks Plus the Cruise ship industry,,, Florida should be far from Poor... I don't care if they want to threaten us with no Super Bowls, No roof In My Stadium is Welcome. I moved from the 200 Section to the 100 Section just to get out from under the roof and AC they used to have... I want to sweat drive the opposing fans into misery and see those Piece of Crap Jet and Pats Dfence cramp up..... I know they will probably do something for a roof, but I don't have to want it or like it... If it gets hot enough we can go to the water park that will be across the street...

Thats right baby, and I live in WV the TAX CAPITOL OF THE WORLD!!

Well VA is just as bad, but here you pay the property tax on your car every year, get it inspected, pay .6 percent tax on everything, and plus a .3 percent food tax on fast food!!!

Our gas is also extremely taxed, so much that 20 mins up 81 to MD, or south to VA the gas is about 10 to 20 cents cheaper!!

You also are supposed to pay tax's on your dog's.

I can go on, but I miss Fl, I lived in Jacksonville for 4 years, Florida is cheaper to live in than WV, now by that I mean the cost to live varying food, car's, animals, ect..
