F.S. Draft pick
Ok this is how I feel were going to start the season barring more trades, and more wheeling and dealing. Do you like roster? Can we make the playoffs with these players? I think we can as long we don't have serious injuries and we don't turn the ball over. Now what do yoy guys think.
Not sure about Hartline, I'm sure there will be an open competition for that 2nd job between Camarillo, Hartline, Bess. But Hartline has the most upside of the group.
I think Culver starts at FS as of now. Not sure if we draft a FS and if we don't take one at 12, then whoever we take won't start.
So he can run out of bounds 3 yards short of 1st down in a tight game. Ted Ginn is a punk sissy, and scared asd hell to take a hit. I did not agree when we drafted him, and I don't want him on the roster next year. He is a me 1st player not a team 1st player. How many times did he run out of bounds last year instead of trying to make more yardage. He is a better off staring fresh some where else because he has worn out his welcome with his current team.
Running out of bounds instead of trying to run through a wall and possibly fumble or lose yards is the SMART Play. Marvin Harrison and Wes Welker have made careers of doing it.
When your not a big guy, the smart play is to go down or go out of bounds. Nothing good will come out of trying to do the impossible
I would like too see Gerhart as well, but according to some people on this board think that Gerhart is a glorified fullback. I am not one of them. Getting him with Marshall would make us the ultimate power football team.
its not just some people on this board who think he is a glorified fullback.....EVERY NFL TEAM, GM, SCOUT, and PERSONAL DIRECTOR thinks he is A fullback.
They are wrong, unless you call John Riggins a fullback, if so that's a hell of a nice fullback. He has put up numbers at every level, do not under estimate this kid. Pete Carroll made the same mistake when recruiting him and paid for it. He may not again
MikeO wern't you one of the "Marshall is never going to happen" guys? I guess we don't know Bill & company as good as we thought.
I wanted Marshall in Miami. At first I was against bringing him in, but when Will Allen, Ronnie Brown, Richie Incognito happened I figured hey the door is open for THUGS AND HOODLUMS, so bring in Marshall. I have been on the bring Marshall to Miami bandwagon for a while now,. Am I surprised we gave up 2 2nd round picks and gave him around $11 mill a year, yeah I'm surprised.
IF JT signs with NY (which looks like will happen) then we have a huge void at OLB. I mean im not as high on Wake as some, but we were thin WITH JT here, with him gone, we are razor thin. And then Wake has the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Also the FS position is a huge void. And Solai isn't a very good NT. Those first 8 games could be scary.
If we lined up tomorrow with that roster we are an 8-9 win team. Bubble of the playoffs. Especially in a tough AFC
Hopefully next week we add some defensive talent that can make an impact ASAP.

Toby Gerhart=Rob Konrad/Mike Alstot/Tommy Vardell. He will go in Rd 3 probably. Best case is late Rd 2, bad case is Rd 4.
He is a nice player but a fullback/goal-line back who will vulcher TD's. He will have a nice NFL career. But to think he is a 3 down RB in the NFL is insane!
Mike O your insane, and I hope like hell we draft him. You take up valuable air other more intelligent life forms could use. Ever since I mentioned Gerhart you have been down on him,and called him a full back. Your a racist biggott if you think he can't play running back in the league. He is the best power back in the draft. Better than Blount. Dixon, Hardesty just to name a few. You have knocked the Pac 10 where he starred at, and have knocked him at every mention on this board. What the hell is your problem. I know for sure that know can predict who will be a star, and who will not. Until that time that he becomes a bust if ever lay off the guy. I have seen him play and he will be very good in the Pro's. I will just leave it at that. Last point no web site has him listed a a fullback except the one you visit enough said.
