I have been asked to enable Avatars for these boards. I can do this, but I prefer the simpler layout we already have. Boards with avatars and lots of graphics are harder to read, IMNSHO. You get posts that are half a page long with two words in them, because the rest of the posts are filled with graphics.

Still, I'm willing to put this to a vote. Please vote on this topic.

I stand corrected. I thought if the size and shape was limited, it would add a little more uniqueness to each poster. O well, was worth the discussion. Always look for ways to improve your home!

They could add uniqueness/identity to the poster but all too often they need to be policed for being offensive/inappropriate (trust me on that). Not worth the trouble, IMO.

Thats why the avatars should be limited to only dolphins images and even then the size should be limited.

But you'd be surprised what some people would interpret as a Dolphin Image.

if you want a little children board then have avatars. If you want a grownup board the forget about avatars. Its childish.

this is the only phins bd I go to. I checked out a few others and I've got to say the thing that turned me off the most about them are the flashing little kiddy avatars. please keep them off this site, keep it classy.

I agree. It's about substance.

I don't want to see little cute pics of Tedd Ginn's head on the body of a donky. Or someone who 10 years later can't get past Jay Fiedler and has a picture of Fiedler's head on a female. or that nonsense

This board is great cause it has strong FACTS and strong OPINIONS! To quote Jim Rome...."have a take, and back it up"

Keep it like it is. I don't even know what your talking about but it doesn't sound like it would add anything to the board other than some little color. KISS ( keep it simple stupid )

No strong opinion, as I've seen them done tastefully and ridiculously dominant.

Given that there is always someone to make it a problem Ilean towards leaving it as is. If it were implemented, I'd opt for limited real estate devoted to it.

The current board format is fine. If posters want to distinguish themselves, they should distinguish themselves through excellent and unique posting.

I voted yes....but, would like to see the size extremely limited.

Looks like the masses have spoken and voted against. I'll leave the thread open for a while, so others can weigh in, but unless something dramatic happens, we will not be implementing avatars.

Na, but seriously, I only brought this up because I'm always one interested in improving my home. And this board has in a short time, become my home. I never asked this to be put to vote, and the mods cared enough to do it for me, for which I'm very grateful. It shows that they care about the boards as much, if not much more, than us regulars do. In short, thanks for taking a suggestion seriously, and keep up the good work!
