I can't imagine we use a 1st or 2nd round draft pick on a Saftey and start a rookie saftey along with TWO second year corners and go into the year like that. I mean seriously, we would get lit up every week in that situation.
Im guessing there is a FA out there we have our eyes on to fill Wilson's spot.
We should know within the next week to 10 days Im guessing
Tyrone Culver is currently a SS but played in the nickle slot and did a good job two years ago. He is very good in coverage but lacking in run support....sounds like a FS to me.
We are a better team right now with Clemons and Culver but don't have a backup for Bell if we do that.

I'd go for Rolle. You can't teach brains. Rolle is super smart.
Rolle ran a 4.69 at the combine and had just 1 INT in his entire college career, which came as a freshman in 2006. Everything I have read about him says his only chance is as a strong safety.
EARL THOMAS or TAYLOR MAYS? One is the best cover Safety in the DRAFT and the other is a physical specimen. MAYS looked phenominal his JR YEAR, and got burnt like Gibril most recently. Earl Thomas has the BALL SKILLs we need from the position.

I think we're giving ourselves the flexibility to draft Thomas or McClain if we wish, or someone else. We're taking the desperation out of the pick. I'm actually wondering if we're targetting Dez Bryant, but if he's not available and we can't trade down, I don't see why NOT to take one of those other guys.
I agree that the decision to release was independent of a lock that we had a replacement, but probably researched to a point we were:
1. Satisfied we had no more greater risk of releasing him than keeping him (meaning he sucked), and existing backups were as good.
and / or
2. Fact that B. parcells is not even in today, when Clark is visiting has the look that a deal was sketched out prior and it is only the dotting of the "i" remaing to close the deal
- Suggesting that the sell had been done and they didn't feel BP needed to be here.
3. We'll know soon enough. Hope they get him, we need the upgrade and use of draft picks else where.
- I also think we need experience at the safety position, as the FO thought we were getting with Wilson ... only to be dissappointed with his play
