I think he is an elite WR. Probably better than most here think he is. But I wouldn't touch this guy.

And I wouldn't part with the draft picks it would take to take on this guy and take on his issues as well.

If he was a FA and you sign him and roll the dice that way, maybe you could talk me into it. But trading anything for him and rolling the dice that way....NO WAY!

Agreed.

Cost/benefit doesn't look good.

They want a 1st and a 3rd for him. no Thanks. Larry Fitzgerald? Yes, Brandon Marshall? pass.

I don't believe we need to have an 'elite' #1 WR to win. we need a legitimate #1 WR.

New Orleans won the Superbowl with an air attack. Coulston was the 18th best WR in the league. and he was their #1.

That's all we need.

that's irrelevant. the broncos would never trade marshall for ginn. but the answer is, "of course."

The idiot Cowboys gave up a 1st, 3rd, 6th and 7th for Roy Williams.

We could probably get Anquan Boldin for a 3rd.

Brandon Marshall for a 1st (skipping the 3rd)

Vincent Jackson for a 1st and 3rd

Miles Austin for a 1st and 3rd

or Antonio Bryant for just the price of his contract.

or we could draft Dez Bryant @ 12 or Golden Tate, Demaryius THomas or Aurelius Benn with a second if we are lucky.

We have to do something and it should be one of the above....

Top three options are Boldin for a 3rd or Antonio Bryant for a hefty contract or a rookie for a 2nd and decent contract.

We still need 3 LB'ers and a NT so we can't afford to give up too much in draft picks.

I still say sign Bryant then draft defense in the first 3 rounds. Good ILBs and NTs are rarely available as FAs or in affordable trades. Decent WRs are often available. Just take a look at the other #1's in our division:

Randy Moss (traded for a 4th rounder)
T.O. (signed as a FA)
Braylon Edwards (2 player, 2 undisclosed draft picks)

I'm wondering if Bryant will turn out to be one of the good ones!

Just Ginn and no picks....yeah I would roll the dice and do that. Only because we are getting NOTHING out of Ginn at WR. So even if Marshall goes on an off-the-field tirad and gets in trouble, we then get nothing out of him at WR. So if its just Ginn-Marshall straight up I would roll that dice. I am not parting with draft picks for Marshall though, no way no how!

Marshall is worth the risk. Marshall for ginn would be good deal. Still hoping Ginn is one of those receivers it takes 3 years to develop.

ginn and a 3d--I'd do that in a second. I doubt Denver would, but hey, it doesn't hurt to ask.

I really think we need to add either a LB or WR as a FA or trade (not involving a 1st or 2d)---that would open up the entire draft for us. If we added dansby and then added mcclain--wow, we'd have upgraded our ILB 100% in one offseason, then could focus the rest of the draft on other positions, safety, WR, NT, whatever. If we acquired a WR in a trade (Boldin or Marshall) or FA (Bryant), same story---we could draft bryant, and our WR problems would be solved, or we could focus the rest of the draft on D without the pressure of fixing the O too.

there's no cap--let's just do it already!!

right, so we'd acquire those 2 WRs in the trade or FA (Bolding or Marshall or A Bryant) and then draft Dez Bryant--problem solved

though I think if we added just 1 true #1 WR, we'd be OK. I think Hartline and Bess are legt #2 WRs

Bess is NOT a #2 WR in this league

And I don't even think Bryant is a #1

I think we'd be ok with Bryant and Hartline starting. Cam and Ginn can fight it out for the 3rd & 4th WR spots. I've lost faith in Bess because of the numerous drops he had last year. He's our slowest WR and a below-average punt returner. All he really had going for him were his hands, and those let him down last year.

How about signing Chris Chambers to a one year deal AND Antonio Bryant and then drafting a WR in the 2nd....Golden Tate, D. Thomas or Aurelius Benn.

I am liking Tate more and more. I saw an interview with him and I was pretty impressed with his attitude and maturity. If he turns out to be like Hines Ward, we will be kicking ourselves for not taking him. He could be gone though.

1 Bryant
2-2b Chambers/Hartline
4 Golden Tate (slot & PR)
5 Ginn (KR)
6 Bess and Camarillo (expendable)

Tate is 5'11 195 and was a RB in high school. He returned punts for ND...last year 12/175/1 TD....could even work in the Wildcat. He is reported to run between a 4.33 and 4.4 40. 93 receptions for 1,496 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also rushed for 186 yards and two more scores.

Everyone is concerned about size but....

Wes Welker: 5-foot-9, 185 pounds
DeSean Jackson: 5-foot-10, 175 pounds
Steve Smith: 5-foot-11, 195 pounds
Hines Ward: 6-foot, 205 pounds

Now WR goes from a weak point to a strong point.

Chris Chambers isn't a good NFL WR. When an NFL playoff team flat out cuts in the middle of a playoff run, that is very telling. Especially a team that has a big-time passing game.

In 9 games with KC, Chambers had 36 catches for 608 yards and 4 TD. He obviously can still play.

The chances of Marshall coming to the Dolphins are the same as Dan Marino coming back to be the starter at QB.

Those numbers suck! 4 catches for 68 yards a game average in KC. Yeah, lets break the bank for a guy like that!! Please!! He was cut by SD for a reason. And he showed why in KC. The guy has off the field issues (another reason why SD cut him) and he doesn't produce on the football field anymore.

And as SAD as his KC stats are, most came in garbage time as KC was losing big each week and he "padded" (funny term with garbage stats) his stats late in games playing vs soft of prevent defenses

im right there with ya'... i would not want to trade ginn for a disgruntled, displaced, prima donna wr. Ginn's speed is something you cannot teach, and can go for 6 anytime he touches the ball (provided he has the blocking/lanes up field)... he's also what, 24? lets wait for this guy to mature into a man, then see his habits.

he's definitely not the answer at wr, but then again neither is Marshall, i don't think. I'm holding out to watch Ginn become the glue, that turns this passing attack from adequate to deadly. and given his speed i think is a realistic expectation

Ginn and Royal on Denver? LOL. Smaller and smaller could be their nickname

That production extrapolated to a 16 game season is 64 catches for 1080 yds.

Yeah...he can still play. but I will say he tended to play better when he pride was on the line.

I would love to have CC back for 1 or 2 seasons.

Mike...you gotta tone down your rhetoric. You don't come off well.

4 catches per game for 68 yards over 16 games is 64 catches for 1080 yds.

Granted that isn't 'elite' but it doesn't 'suck' as you said.

And no-one mentioned breaking the bank. So why put that in there? He is an unrestricted free agent. The market will establish his value.

a 1,000 yd WR is worth a few million.
