Golden Tate... must have

He is the BEST fit for our offense. The ability to block, crack block, blue collar, great work ethic, great hands, has the ability to be a possession reciever and the ability to get vertical and challenge the safeties, he would be great in the wild cat, can block, get open or run the option reverse. He has sooo much value no question he should be our first round pick.

Also heard that he is being compared to hines ward, I would go further and say that he is hines ward more speed...

We need defense first! NT or ILB at #12.

Have hears Hines Ward comparisons too...supposed to be a tough player. THe question on him right now is how fast is he?

Kiper says combine 40 will determine how high he goes.

Maybe a must have in the 2nd round if he is there....but not at #12.

Yeah I like this guy too, reminds me of Hines Ward. I hated him at ND but would love him as a phin. I agree we gotta go w/ the D in he first round.

HE reminds me of Steve Smith of Carolina.

I wouldn't be upset if we traded down a few spots and took him

but would u take him in the 1st at 12? If he runs a 4.3 40 at the combine he may be gone by our 43rd.

The only knock Ive heard on him is that he's raw. I would like to have him though. ...on a side note, Illinois has never produced a great WR.

ok...playing devil's advocate....

Berry, McClain and White are all gone (which is possible) and we can't trade down....who do you take?

If you can't fill a need then you take the BEST player and don't worry about which position he plays

Really? even if it's a QB or OT?

Not a big fan of that "best player available" rule either, you have to have some sort of need before you take a guy IMO

Well not QB cause it costs too much money. But OT...yes. I can always move Vernon inside to guard

Why i hate drafting by value... lets look at what the dolphins did,
we drafted ted ginn with the #9 pick where dwayne bowe had a late first round grade. If you could go back knowing what you know now would you draft bowe or ginn?

THis is why I dont look at "OTHER" people's grade. I would have my own grade and not draft based on what other people say is a reach.

Tate is the most complete wr in the draft and last time I checked our problems was consistency on the offensive side of the ball. Our defensive problems was not because of a lack of talent it was because of lack of scheme. If you look at the players on our defense there is no question why we cant be a top 10 defense TODAY! we have talent and depth at just about every position (exept maybe ILcool smiley.

LED Langford
NT Paul Solaia
RDE Starks

LOLB Quentin Moses
LILB Akin Ayodele
RILB Channing Crowder
ROLB Cameron Wake, Charlie Anderson

CB Davis & Allen
CB Smith

FS Gerbil Wilson
SS Wheramiah Bell

This is NOT a top 10 defense. No matter how you slice it.

Add a better FS, NT and at least 3 LB'ers and then...yes.

I see a team that is weak against the run up the middle and on the outside. It's a team that will get killed by stud WR's and TE's. I see a 28th ranked defense....I don't care if Paul Pasqualoni is the DC or Buddy Ryan.
