The Bucs haven't franchise tagged him and it looks like they won't (according to PFT).
This would be a good signing. With no CAP looking likely we could sign him to a deal that makes him happy and gives us an exit option if he doesn't measure up.
I would love to see us sign him and draft a guy as well.
i think parcells has a history with him and doesn't like him--didn't bryant throw a jersey at him or something? anyway, signing him does not solve our #1 WR problem, we'd still need a better guy than him. I'm fine passing on him.
maybe we should take dez bryant if he is on the board. i think that would solve the #1 receiver problem once and for all, and will make more of an impact on our team than any other player we could take. a defensive player is nice and needed but we are many players away on D, and I think only one player away on O
Maybe if he and Parcells patched things up.
Maybe if his drug problems are a thing of the past.
Maybe if his knee and groin injuries of last season won't linger.
Maybe if he agrees to keep his mouth shut and be a good teammate.
And maybe if he's willing to take a HUGE paycut from the $9M he made last season.

He also had one of the worst QB's in the league throwing to him last year in Josh Freeman. I'd say the worst QB's in the league are: Quinn, Sanchez, Freeman, and Trent Edwards
Dez Bryant would be a good draft. Boldin as well, little older but still has play left in him. Good leader when healthy. We must have the deep threat in order to make the 2nd and 3rd tier guys back off the line of scrimmage.
I agree with Monty, if we got Antonio or Boldin we'd still have to draft someone to groom so i'd rather get Antonio for no picks then give up a 2nd/3rd for Boldin. I believe Boldin's better but i'm stingy with picks

I was thinking along the same lines except that both are around 30 years old and Boldin comes with a higher price (draft pick). I say make a run at Bryant and still go after a young WR in the draft....Dez White, Aurellius Benn, Golden Tate etc. Now we have a receiving core for the present and future for Henne to get his 4,000 yards and 25 TD seasons.
Isn't there another Oronde Gadsden-type out there somewhere. OG was as slow as molasses, but the guy could catch and always found a way to get his hands on the ball.

Bryant would not really fit the bill of the huge downfield threat. He'd be the physical go to guy. A faster version of Boldin, who ran a 4.72 as a rookie. Ideally, they'd sign Bryant and pair him up with a rookie downfield threat.
Bryant would provide enough legitimacy at WR that teams would have to mix their coverage. Teams have played over/under on Ginn and then give deep support on the other side.
Hartline has been able to make some nice plays against this coverage.
Bryant would be more of a deep threat than Hartline, has the experience and ability to run more deceptive routes ( forcing the deep support outside), and has good hands.
IMO, This would be enough of an upgrade to allow Ginn to get behind the coverage more often, and would open up the middle for TE's and slot WR's.
Signing Bryant would give us more options in the draft as well. We could draft a speed guy, a possession guy, or even a slash guy like McCluster, since our primary deficit would have been addressed.

No I would be thrilled if we got Dez or Antonio Bryant or both. The Bryant Brothers...like the Marks.
Wow..... Now I personaly feel it would be a waist of time, money and development if we signed him. IMHO I want to trade for Marshall, and acquire Dansby. Now that would be truley game changing.
