Did you see THAT?

If you look at a replay of the last play in the Packer game, it appears to me that it WOULD HAVE BEEN ARGUABLY an incomplete pass HAD AARON RODGERS NOT KICKED THE BALL IN THE AIR WITH HIS FOOT.

when he did that, that mooted any replay because after leaving his hand, the ball NEVER had a chance to hit the ground.

Wow!

What was he trying to accomplish? Kicking the ball so that it could have been a completion?????????????

I don't think was trying to kick the ball at all. I think he was getting tackled and his leg came up...pure accident nothing more.

In any event I would like to see the NFL adopt the college system in overtime where a team has a chance to answer a score.

I love the OT rule. Never change it. Brings the best drama to sports there is.

gotta disagree, Mikeo. I like the idea of at least one possession and then sudden death.

But the boot looked intentional to me.

Nope. I....lol, have to agree with Mike on this one. Arizona proved that you can win with your defense in overtime.

If you dont win the coin flip on OT....then stop the offense. Defense is a part of the game ya know. You dont throw your defense out when and if you ever go into OT.

I saw what you saw: he did deliberately try to kick it.

I also thought what you thought: that if he had just let it fall, then it would have been an incomplete pass.

But I replayed it a couple of times and I'm pretty sure it was a fumble, because his arm wasn't going forward. That's why he kicked the ball: he knew it was a fumble and he was trying to get it away from the Cardinals who were surrounding him.

Xynx, gotta agree with you.

In the final analysis, I would have ruled it a fumble also.

But without the kick, there was at least a chance of an incomplete pass call.

But then again, as you say, who's to say that he did not have the better idea of trying to kick it away from the Cards.

the boot- it was a reflex, you know when you drop something and its fallin you ALWAYS stick your foot out-even if its a hot coffee.

I've googled it and I was not able to find any quote from Aaron himself. However, I was unable to find anyone who thought it was a reflex.

There were those who said he tried to kick it AWAY from the Cards but everyone said it was an intentional act and not a reflex or mere accident.

Agree Mike. You got this one right.

Leave the dam game alone. Way to many changes in the NFL.

I have to agree with MikeO on this one. NFL football championships are won by having a good team on both sides of the ball. Sudden death overtimes separate the real champs from the posers. Not to mention it's quite possibly the most tense 15 minutes in sports.

The college overtime is a joke. It goes way too long. And in the NFL with "real kickers". Even if you go 3 and out, your still in FG range. Coaches would play it safe and the damn game would never end.

These are PROFESSIONAL athletes who make millions, I don't want to hear any crying about a stupid coin toss. MAKE A PLAY!!! Win the game!!
