You're not going to root for the jets are you?

With Balt, Miami, and Jax losing.

If the Jets beat Indy and Cincy (both teams have nothing to play for) the Jets are in the playoffs.

The Jets control their own destiny

Why not? We beat them TWICE this year and it preserves the 72 legacy?

What do you get out of rooting for the Colts?

They were just as hated rivals of ours in the AFC East back in the mid 1970's when they had Bert Jones and used to 'OWN US.'

Well Bob, the colts don't seem to care about the 72 record. They are resting the starters because going undefeated means nothing to them, only to the fans. So, the legacy lives for yet another year and nobody really cares except Dolphin fans and that's because we really don't have anything else to cheer about.

While it is true that we don't have anything else to cheer about this year, it is ABSOLUTELY FALSE that nobody cares except Dolphin fans. I live in Patriot Territory and let me tell you their fans had a real stiffie about going undefeated back in 2007. So did Bellichick, no doubt. He ran up the score for all the games, in attempt to make a "we don't need to cheat" statement throughout the year. He did NOT rest his starters at the end of the regular season, and as a result they didn't have enough in the tank during the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl.

JC, the hype is all "fan driven". Even the Indy fans were booing when Manning was pulled from the game.
This season the Colts are making the statement that the 72 legacy means nothing, nothing at all compared to winning the super bowl and there's a super bowl winner every year.
The Colts are a class organization, unlike the patriots.

RESPONSE: And the last game of that 2007 season for the Patriots when they should have been resting their players and when they showed that opposing team all they had (instead of resting their players) was against "Guess who?"

None other than the New York Giants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well yeah, okay, why not? Isn't that the way it should be? Being Fan Driven is definitely preferable to "Media Driven" or "Team-Owners Driven" or "Players Union Driven" I'll take it.

They are definitely a class organization, which got my respect even when they were a hated division rival. I miss having the Colts in our division, I never hated them the way I hated the Bills, Jets, and Pats.

Now that our Phins are out of the picture, put me down for hoping the Colts and Saints fight it out for the Lombardi.

What I meant is that the fans are driven by the media. I doubt that any of the Indy fans that were booing today would admit to it tomorrow. To the man they will probably say that it's no big deal, the coaches were right to pull the starters. If the Colts don't win the SB, then it's all a moot point.
Only the Dolphin fans agonize over the 72 legacy season after season.

Clearly the Colts didn't give a rat's a$$ about perfection. To them the SB is perfect enough.

You can't possibly be a Phins fan. Go trolling somewhere else.

If you ask the players today they will say they don't care. Ask them after they lose in the playoffs because there momentum was broken.

I have been a Dolphin fan since Csonk was drafted. I was going to Syracuse at the time. We all became fans for different reasons and through different circumstances.
The 72 Dolphins won 14 regular season games and then swept the platoffs.
IF the colts now sweep the playoffs and win the SB then they will have accomplished the same as the Dolphins,(in my humble opinion)
Two extra regular season games is a major obstacle that the 72 Dolphins didn't have to worry about. Alot can happen in two hard fought games. Key players can get hurt. We'll never know whether the 72 Dolphins would have survived two extra games and for that reason THAT legacy needs to be retired and not compared to a 16 game regular season. It's apples and oranges. The game has changed and clearly there are different levels of perfection. Again, if the Colts fail to win the SB it's all a moot point.
