Terry: You don't understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it.

Terry: Get me on my feet.

Father Barry: How're you doing?

Terry: Am I on my feet?

Terry: You think you're God Almighty, but you know what you are? You're a cheap, lousy, dirty, stinkin' mug! And I'm glad what I done to you, ya hear that? I'm glad what I done!

Pretty broad spectrum???????? New language???????

He'll bounce back. My prediction still is that he will start for this team. He is still on this team isn't he?

Better than saying what you said. That green will start. Green is a gonner.

Always go with odds. You will almost always be right.

I believe your prediction stated that he will be at the op of the list by mid-season so that means he has to be the number one corner by week 8.

Eesti i will stand by my vontae prediction until the end just like i know you will stand by your sean smith prediction. You are ahead right about now. And its fine with me. All i want is for either of them to become great.

We'll see what happens.

I think this deserves a clarification Sam....

I predicted Sean Smith would be the starter and future Pro Bowler. I said he should have been our first round pick way back before the draft....although I changed my mind a few times between Nicks and Harvin.

Thunder guaranteed Eric Green would be the starter.

You predicted Davis would be the starter by mid season.

The way I see it, the only way Davis starts by mid season would be due to injury or having beat out Will Allen....so not much of a chance with the fat extension he just signed.

Surtain didn't start until his second year so maybe next year for Davis.

Personally, I have never been that impressed with Will Allen. He is a very good Cb but not elite IMO. Goodman did better last year than Allen.

We may be set for starters at CB with Smith and Allen but if either one goes down, we could be in big trouble.

I think the next in line would be Nathan Jones and J. Allen. Davis is clearly not ready yet. Can he get ready to play a big role in two weeks? I doubt it.

We could really use a vet back there for insurance.

Sam Madison or Pat Surtain are still available and not much else.

So...say we go into the season with Smith and Allen. One goes down and Jones or Jason Allen have to step in. Do we really want them covering Randy Moss and T.O. and Lee Evans? I don't think so.

It's either that or we throw Davis into the fire. What if Will Allen gets hurt? Throw Davis in and we have two rookie corners? No.

I would feel a little more comfortable having Surtain as the 3rd corner and letting Jones or Allen walk. PS was injured last year and started 2 games and played in 8. Madison only played in 7 games.

Will Allen, Smith, Jones, J. Allen, Davis ????

We are only one injury away from disaster right now. We were expecting a lot more out of Green as a veteran. He could not get the job done and now we have no experience back there outside of Allen.

You can bet the coaches are thinking about that.

eesti: Chill about our CBs. It's not that bad. Jones is decent, JA tends to play ok in games, and Vontae has serious talent. Sometimes talent and physical ability can go pretty far. Also, as opposed to a couple people on this board, I really don't think this will be our Superbowl year. If someone goes down, then things happen. We were pretty lucky last year not to have too many major injuries. Hopefully that's a testament to Sparano's training regiment.

Let's think of when we had Madison and Surtain in their prime. Who did we have behind THEM if one of them went down?

One more thing to note, with JT and Wake, our pass rush will be MUCH improved this year. That means the CBs won't have to work as hard!

You are telling me to chill? puhlease.

decent doesn't cut it against the recievers we will be facing this year. It takes a lot more than physical ability to be a starting corner in the NFL. Ask Eric Green & Jason Allen.

Also, as

True. The off season program is incredible but it didn't stop 3 starters from ending up on IR last year. Like you say, if we run into that then backups have to step up. Bess did it. Our reserve guards... not so much.

>

Terrell Buckley, Terry Cousin...not great but they had experience.

This is the one saving grace but right out of the gate we face Matt Ryan, Peyton Manning and Phillip Rivers in consecutive weeks. These are guys who know how to handle a pass rush.

Down the road we we still face Drew Brees, Tom Brady twice, Kerry Collins, Matt Schaub and Ben Roethlisberger.

I am not saying the sky is falling but it doesn't hurt to have a little insurance. You can never have enough good corners. The fact is that our CB's are very talented and very inexperienced. They have a lot of potential but many coaches have lost their jobs counting on potential.

I hope like hell it won't happen and we will probably be fine. It's just a thought that popped into my head.

1.As far as payton manning goes he had trouble with the phins passrush in the past...He threw like 3 or 4 ints in just one game that i remember. We've also beat them in the playoffs....Yes with a different team and defense but i would like to think our deffense is much improved this year.

2.Phillip Rivers is OK we beat them last year, the difference this year might be that we play them at their house.

3.Matt Ryan had an excellent rookie season. The question is can he be as good as his rookie season now that other teams know what to expect?
