i guaranteeing it to be green, miami is his fav team, and he is a solid player comming off a injury bug. but vontae and smith will be worked in alot. we should have the most dominating defense in the league, just becuase of our OLB and backfield positions. i cant wait to watch the fantasy point rack up when i take miami's offense and defesne.
Eric Green will start. In a division with Moss, Owens, Evans, and even Welker there is no time for "on the job training". The VET players will see the majority of the reps and be the starters.....the kids will be nickle and dime backs
i think everyone on here underestimates green's abilities, he had injuries and a nice cb come into his career and kinda left him on the back burner, but now he is back into his home state, and i know he growing up was a miami fan AND, he is healthy, and has a great defense to help him out, not to mention when at arizona he had a GREAT cast of wr's to help mold him into a solid corner, i would however like to see him bulk up a little maybe 5 or 6 pounds of muscle.

They just said a few days back that he gained 10 LBs of muscle.
Learn your ABCs first please before you come out and say he needs to gain 5 more pounds of muscle.
Green will be starting all season long. The guy can flat out play. The fact they brought in 2 rookies only makes Green that much more of a lock to start in my book. He will bring his "A" game and his "A" game is pretty damn good!!!!!
stats for a CB can be very misleading. I mean the good ones usually have no stats cause teams avoid throwing to them. So I don't get caught up in the numbers game with that position on the football field.
The guy played on some bad teams (until last year of course) and didn't get a lot of press. He also had some injuries that hurt him from time to time. If Zona wasn't in salary cap hell, I think they would have resigned him. It isn't like they wanted him gone
I agree. He may turn out to be a great player. I'm sure Ireland had a reason for taking him. That said...he has some stiff competition which is a great problem to have.
its going to be interesting to see how many DB's we carry. And how many end up on the practice squad.
It's going to be interesting because Nathan Jones is a lock to make this team because of his special teams play. So how many we carry in the defensive backfield will be the thing to watch.
The ONLY locks I see as of now are....
Bell
Wilson
Will Allen
Vonte
Nathan Jones
Eric Green
Which leaves about 10 guys fighting for 2 spots or so

Smith and Davis are locks. We won't cut our first or second rounders.
We have cut 2nd round picks before. Don't think Smith will get cut but there is always the practice squad remember. I think Smith's special teams ability will keep him around as he is an all around athlete.

Smith will NOT be on the practice squad. He's too valuable, and he'll be exposed there to being signed by another team. He'll be on our roster. Mark my words.
green, allen starting, davis, smith reserve. period. good god common sense, Mike0 your a miracle, a tall BIG cb and solid safty like smith being cut, serious i mean i thought my crap was retarted but you take the cake, your a special kind of dumbass, worse than eric foreman.
"You were right numberone...you were right. The PATS and the 'BOYS had the same thoughts too. numberonedumbanddumber- you are a genius"Wow, another sterling prediction by the poster child for the dangers of illiteracy. So, let me get this straight. Essentially, the Dolphins traded Jason Taylor for Jason Taylor and Pat White and saved 7 million dollars. Now, I am not the greatest talent evaluator, but that sounds like a good deal to me."
The only locks at CB are Will Allen, Vontae Davis, Sean Smith and Eric Green. Nathan Jones is no lock as he is the 6th DB.
He was not even as productive as Jason Allen last year and he got beat out for nickle back by a Strong Safety (Culver). He did have 3 sacks but you don't define yourself as a CB by sacks alone.
We could easily pick up a player off the waiver wire who could unseat any of the lower CB's.
The FO also likes big CB's and Jones is not big. He is the smallest DB on the team.
As far as value to the FO...
1 Vontae Davis
2 Will Allen
3 Sean Smith
4 Eric green
5 Jason Allen
6 Nathan Jones
7 Joey Thomas
