Round 1 of the NFL 2020 Draft
Posted by: colonel ()
Date: April 23, 2020 02:10AM

With most of the nation hunkering down to slow the spread of Corvid-19, most NFL fans should be looking forward to tonight's first round selections. The Dolphins have a lot to gain if they select the right players. Whether we take a QB with one of our picks is anybody's guess. I just hope that whomever the team selects that player will immediately improve team spirit and play. smiling smiley

The presentation of picks will be odd because of the social distancing, however, it should bring a good amount of excitement to NFL football fans. Coverage starts around 9pm EDST tonight. Be optimistic, stay optimistic through all the rounds to follow. Go Dolphins.

Against my better judgment......but I'm a TUA fan now. Sit him for a year. Let him get stronger, learn the playbook.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

yeesh..I only had ONE wish and that was for us to avoid Tua in an early round. Oh well. I'm a Tua fan now too.

As TCPF says, sit him for a year.

I will add: hopefully he will not get destroyed and sit again for a year or two.

So. The next pick for protection. Tackle? Guard? Center? A SEAL Team?

87 career TD's with only 11 int's, at the end of the day it would have been pretty foolish to not take a chance on him. If he stay's healthy we have one helluva talented QB folks.

I've had my concerns about his injury, but if the Dolphins are okay with him medically then I trust their judgement.

Welcome to the Miami Dolphins Tua!

I guess, but those stats were before his injury.

I remember when we got Daunte Culpepper after he came back from his knee injury. All the doctors said he was fine. At the time, I trusted the doctors' judgement. But Culpepper stunk when he came back from his injury as a Dolphin.

Every case is different, the injury is different and the player is different, but that whole Culpepper thing made me forever wary of getting players (esp QBs) who are coming back from devastating injuries.

But I'll get over it by the time the season starts. I can't wait to be proven wrong.

Go Tua, Go Dolphins!

I hope we're all proven wrong JC.

We were worried about Drew Brees too but look what happened. With 3 picks in the 1st round I think we can afford to take a chance. If he went elsewhere and turned out to be another Drew Brees HOF'er type I think we'd all regret letting him get away. Not this time!

Reciever JUEDY is TUAs favorite target .
That would make a statement. Go Oline with #26.

Yes I know...for every Daunte Culpepper there's a Drew Brees.

or as Chris Shashaty pointed out in his article -- Curtis Martin.

I just finished reading Chris' article and I recommend everyone do the same--he's a very good writer and after reading his post I feel better already about picking Tua.

You can find Chris' article from the link on the main phins.com page.

Go Tua and Go phins!

Haven't seen any posts here about our second first round pick Austin Jackson out of USC- OT. Will this guy save Fitzy's old bones and Tua's newer but vulnerable ones?

I read that he donated bone marrow to his sister last year and that his father also played OL for the Trojans and the Green Bay Packers.

I am not a college football expert and would like to hear what you all hear about this guy. So far the silence is deafening.

They can study the playbook together.

Jackson seems like a good kid. I hope they develop into leaders on the offense.

yeah 30th pick is confirmed by multiple twitter sources and more importantly...the nfl site.

I'd be happy with a valued RB or WR too.

but we took the CB from Auburn!

I'm not too surprised.... a good DB is gold and RBs are relatively speaking a dime a dozen lately.

Good night!

They had a great saftey and RB (swift)available. Trading back for a free 4th was a good move. Then you pick a CB.....not a position of need ......with a player rated 2Nd 3rd round!? WTF? They gave up Minka for that? Really? Hope they know something we dont.confused smiley

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

We took Igbinoghene because we will be playing a ton of man to man on defense...gotta have good corners to do that. It was a position of need considering what the coaches want to do schematically. His player grade is also an A+.

The Jackson pick is also a good one but I think he was a bit of a reach...but due to the run on OT’s I get why we grabbed him. He will get a ton of work right off of the bat. Player grade C-.

What I can't help but notice is that these players have incredible personal character along with whatever athletic talent they have. These kids have "team player" projecting from their personalities. I can tell that Flores is really big on that, it's very obvious & that's a good thing. There's a culture change going on since Flores arrived here and I really like it.
