This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Getting back to football on here should be the priority now. The partisan games should end, just like they did yesterday outside of sports.
Moving on...who do you want to draft at QB, RB, OL, Edge, DL etc.
I've posted some of my desires, and now I just read an article where the Raiders trade up to take "Mr. Glass", and we trade up from #26 to take Love at 23?
Lots of scenarios being thrown around, as I sit here hoping the QB I feel will be proven in years to come as the steal in this draft... will be wearing Aqua & Orange.
I agree. But want to win with the Dolphins as well as "outside of sports"
Except for Burrows and Chase I dont see any players worth moving up for. And we have no buisness moving up for anyone with the amount of needs we have.
I m hoping we trade down grab extra picks for building the Trenches. You see what we accomplished with nothing....imagine what we could do with a good line.
If you are in love with Tua or Herbert or Love then you have to take him at 5. I want Simmons but don't think he will be there.
If the QB you want (lets just say Fromm, Hurts, or Gordon) will be there at the end of the first round then take the best player from Edge, OL maybe CB (if any of Young, Simmons, Okudah) are still on the board them run up and make the pick. If not, I see nothing wrong with trading back some and picking up extra assets and still getting the guy you want. (by extra assets I mean future picks, we have plenty this year)
From the first 6 picks we have I would pick : QB, RB, EDGE, CB, 2 OL (1 if we got Simmons)
Justin Herbert QB
Wills ,Bechton or Jones OL
Deandre Swift RB #1
Jeremy Chinn S/LB big versatile Safety
KJ Hamler WR Deep threat
Kyle Dugger Athletic Safety # 2. Dugger and Chinn!
AJ Dillon, Zac Moss, Eno Benjamin, Josh Kelly RB #2
Luc barcoo CB
Jordan Mack LB
Jonathan Garvin or Greenard DE
Saddiq Charles, Simon Stepaniak, Zach Shackleford jake Hanson OL
Juwon Johnson Quintez Cephus Lawrence Cagers or Dez Patmon WR
Jon Runyan or Scott Frantz OL
Tanner Muse, James Pierre, Kindle Vildor or Julian Blackmon DB
FA
Dante Fowler went with Lawson and Ogbah
Jack Conklin downgraded wih Flowers
Kareem Hunt
Logan Ryan went with Jones
Kyle Van Noy signed !

I don't want to trade up either...just posted the articles implied scenario. Trading down and getting more picks would be ideal, "if" we can still get who we are targeting.
I don't see any pressing needs at WR,TE,or Corner as we stand now barring exit trades. Howard's situation in the eyes of the coaches is a concern, and safety is another situation that could come calling.
We do need a good running back, a left tackle, and some edge mojo. Simmons as stated in my earlier pick list would be awesome, as would Becton. I think Akers would shine as we build our line, as he exhibited his abilities behind a sub-par line, and has great speed.
QB...you know where I stand there... A.G. all the way!

This might implode your brain ........but just try to focus.
" deep strong Trenches BUILDS franchise QBs."
That's why Tannehill is the comeback player of the year and played in the AFC championship game. It's why Rosen , a round 1 Pick hasnt been successful.
You can scream we need to pick a Franchise QB all day long.....in fact you have. But all you have is your want. TANNEHILL proved my point.
Trenches. We have 2 #1s next year if we need a QB.
First to you other posters. The next significant occurrence in the season is the NFL Draft. This discussion is related to that topic. It's not just bickering.
So...……...
If you have an all pro offensive line and an all pro defense like Bob Griese did, then you win championships.
But if you lack a sufficient defense, like Marino did. You come close but don't win one. You get outscored by the 49ers and Joe Montana in the Super Bowl at Stanford Stadium. I was there.
Or the prior year, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, if you could have won the Super Bowl when you had the best DEFENSE in the NFL but only if you could have only made one extra first down in the 4th quarter and ran the clock out. I was also there.
Needs change each year. After that Super Bowl in the Rose Bowl, we found out that David Woodley would not do it. We drafted Marino the next Draft.
Should be have NOT done that, TC?
But you have IMPLIED the funniest thing of all. That we should not draft a QB in deference to the fact that the position should be held OPEN in reverence to our FORMER QB, Ryan Tannehill.
"Needs change each year. After that Super Bowl in the Rose Bowl, we found out that David Woodley would not do it. We drafted Marino the next Draft."
Dont know. But the result was the same.
That's A FACT. Something you never seem to post. FACTS.
FACT: Miami hasnt had deep Trenches in decades.
FACT: Tannehill goes to a Team with deep trenches and makes the Pro bowl.
At some point common sense has to creep in and you realize a QB was never our problem. But then again....you kinda need to pocess common sense to understand it.

I dont remember seeing Carr in the Probowl or the AFC championship? You can deny it but , ignore it.....but Tanny was one of the Best QBs in the league this year.

AFC CHAMPIONSHIP
PROBOWL
COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR
You cant teach.....because you have been taught. The last QB you picked to be #1 last draft wasnt even drafted period. Lol.
You keep whining about a QB. Who is your #1 this time? Tell us who the Dolphins should pick at #1!!?
If you had you perfect draft.. who's your favorite QB besides Burrows?
Tell me you have a favorite? You cry , whine and stamp your feet for a must have QB to change the Dolphins into a SB winner......but you dont know which one?
Burrows is going to be the first QB taken . We dont have a shot.
I say we got options. Many different ways to go. I've explained them all several times . Pesky Facts again...
Each time you whine , cry, and your one track mind states only one thing.....must pick a QB with the first pick. We are doomed unless we pick it first. You would think you would have one QB in mind?
For me, I think I'll have more clarity about the draft primarily after free agency's effect on the roster and secondarily just with the passing of time and events related to the draft itself.
I'd really like to see us add (at a minimum) one stud OL FA who can serve as an anchor for what I hope is an OL rebuild. I'm also hoping that Howard remains with the team and returns to the field long-term performing as he did in 2017/18...and I'd like it if we paired another elite-level CB with him from FA.
SamSam, TC and ChyrenB--stop talking about Tannehill, what he did and didn't do for the Dolphins. Stay focused on the topic or this thread will be closed very quickly.
I am throwing out a few questions for the chat....
I read an article about trading up to #2... what would you think about taking Chase Young? Trade a first for him and with the other pick the best QB available(ie. Gordon, Love or Fromm)
Also, we have six picks in the first picks 70 picks. Does it make sense to trade up to 2 or 3 and pick a potential franchise QB that is fragile and give up a 1st rounder or potentially 2 picks?
It's not like we only have a few holes. Wouldn't it be smarter to stay at 5 and get bodies and pick the best QB available? I have previously written about the number of great QB's since 2000 that have been drafted with the first or second pick (or even taken as the first or second QB off the board), there are not a whole lot of them out there. (Yes Mahomes is one) Most great QB's are developed because they get shell shocked it thrown into the fire behind bad offensive lines.
Yep Astro I would stay at the 5 spot. Any trading would be down to add even more picks. I think if you have an opportunity to grab 6 of the top 100 players in a deep draft you take them.
Hope we don't blow this like we did in 2007 had 4 picks in the top 75 and a high pick in round 4. Did not get at decent starter with any of those picks.

Who's talking about Tannehill?
Simple Question....if your insisting on a QB be taken at #5 you should have one in mind no?
It's also perfectly aligned with the Topic.
Chyrene.....you are insisting on a QB at #5. Nothing else will do. So who is your pick?

Chase young is the best player in the draft. If used right hes a once in a decade type player. Grab him if he can.
