Okay guys, the game is on National TV. With a group of players that must be tired of losing, perhaps all the talk of them tanking for TUA may make them super hungry for a win. Will it all come together for them tonight? The Steelers are struggling and probably are underestimating the Dolphins and expect to win easily. That could be a mistake.
3rd and 20 at nearly mid field and our defense is designed like they were inside the 5 line yard. In other words, we were playing as if a pass was the LAST thing we expected them to do
Well guys, the gimmee score changed momentum and the loss (again) of Howard put too many weak players on the field. What could have been our first win simply slipped away....
I will say the players are playing hard--that's a good thing, however, there's a lack of skilled players, and that's obvious.
Next game we play the Jets. I hope we can take outscore them.
Scott Van Pelt on sports Center made a good point. Miami may be 0-7 but they come out fighting every game. That speaks volumes for Flores and this Teams character. We will be that much better when we do start winning.
Bummer that Howard is injured again. They ought to just put him on IR and save him until next year. It isn't even worth having him on the field at anything less than 100% risking even more injury as this season is already down the toilet.
It sucked I wasn't able to watch the game. Win or lose this is my team. Nice to know there are some fellow die hard fans on this board who still stick around when times are tough.

I watched the game into the early 4th qtr and noticed the defense especially appeared to taper off in the 2nd half. I think it was more the adjustments that PIT made. I think the fire was rekindle by the end of the third. We are giving a lot of young dbs a chance this year so we have to live with their mistakes. One of the young corners had good coverage on a long pass reception and allowed the PIT wr to take the ball out of his hands. Wilkins appears to be doing a good job holding the run on his side. Although I think he is taking plays off. PIT gobbled up yards running on the left, gotta fixed that. Have so much respect for Jenkins/Godchaux guys are giving the 110%.
On D I like that the players are in the right spot most of the time, shows that coaches are getting the teaching part right. I do think we need upgrades at a number of positions. Players are playing hard and I respect that but if we upgraded at RG/CB/ILB WR (like Williams but he is dropping like 1 pass a game) QB (can Rosen lead men?) we will improve.
I was just thinking that .....perhaps.... the best thing that happened last night is that Howard got hurt again.... this means no one will want to trade for him and we can get him better for next year...He is a good piece to keep in place for next year and the future
I was just thinking maybe we go w/ Young with our first nbr1, the best cb w/ nbr1A and the best qb (Fromm?) at nbr1B. Upgrade DE/CB first. If Fromm or whoever does not look like the answer we go qb in the first rnd again in 2021.
Yeah they should put Howard on the shelf for this year.
I am good with Young with our first #1, depends who is available for our second #1, if Herbert or either Alabama WR falls I say pick them or best CB or OT, for the third #1 Fromm is a good option or OG/C depending who you picked second
Young might be the right pick at #1 but is very unlikely to happen. You have Cincinnati, Miami, and Tampa Bay who will likely be picking in the top 5. All three need a Quarterback. If Miami doesn't pick their quarterback of choice, at least 2 of the top choices will be gone by their second pick. I don't think Ross is going through an 0-16 season to get an edge rusher. Just my opinion, but I think they are dead set on getting their franchise guy regardless of who the pundits think is the best overall player. The consensus is that it's Tua, but I can't imagine a scenario where Miami doesn't pick a signal caller with their #1 overall pick. Again, I'm not saying it's the right move, I'm saying that I think that's the way it's going to go.
Unless they are dead set on a QB , I dont see anyone better then Rosen IMO, trade down. Re build every position possible.2021 we have 2 first rounds as well we can re visit the QB position with a much better foundation IF necessary. You dont waste a 1st overall on a QB with rebuilt ankles.

Not sure I agree about Rosen. He has the arm but his ability to read defenses and decision-making haven't looked very good. Yes, I agree that it's hard to tell given the supporting cast, but if you can't beat out a journeyman quarterback who's on his 8th team, it's hard to imagine that he'll blossom into a difference maker type of franchise quarterback. Off the subject, you have to love Fitzpatrick though. He is such a frigging gamer. If you could put Rosen's arm on Fitzpatrick, you might have something. I still think this year's highlight (perhaps the only highlight) is Ryan putting his shoulder down and bulling his way into the end-zone.
I was thinking about the Fitzpatrick 4th down run at the end of the 3rd.
Was the way it was reviewed legal? I thought the refs only had 3 minutes to make up their mind and the extra time for the quarter change shouldn't be used. 10 minutes seemed overly excessive.

Not sure about the time allowed, but given the angle, there's no way a ref could say there was irrefutable evidence that he was short. Yes, from a side angle it looked like he was short, but unless you have the correct vantage point, there's no way to tell. In my opinion, whatever the call on the field was, should've been upheld.

All fair points. I'm not saying Rosen is the answer. Far from it. But this is a crucial crucial draft for us. If they are not damn sure on a QB , Rosen is a viable short term option as we rebuild the team with better players.
I also dig Fitz. He could also pilot this team through a few more drafts......
