Only ONE of the foolish moves. Getting rid rid of Jay Ajayi who was a running back like no Dolphins' running back since the old days just because he got angry and pitched a bitch one day at least rivals and probably surpasses that.

I have a feeling that as the season progresses, coaches, media, and fans will each realize how good Landry was. Remember, he did what he did last year with Cutler and Moore throwing him the ball. I'll say it again, there is NO way that Albert Wilson and Danny Amendola equal Jarvis Landry. NO WAY. The cap difference between Landry and Wilson plus Amendola? About 4.5 million dollars. That's less than half of the amount that they're paying Alonso to miss tackles and not cover tight ends. This move will be a defining one for Gase and Tannenbaum... and not in a good way.

Landry was and is a great receiver. Wilson and Amedola don't have to replace his yardage. If we have decent receiving tight ends, Landry doesn't catch 100 balls. No way.

Lets say, Landry's production goes down to 80 catches per year which is completely feasible if we have capable tight ends in Gase's 2-tight end offense. That's only the loss of a couple of catches per game.

But, at the 80 catches x 10.1 yard career average, his total yardage is 808 yards.

Would you really pay $16.2 million for 80 catches/800 yards?

I'd pay top dollar for a guy who moves the chains the way Landry did. The tight end situation has potential because Gesicki looks promising but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Gesicki hasn't caught a pass yet. Michael Egnew came in with some collegiate accolades and ended up a bust. Not saying that'll happen with Gesicki, but Landry was a proven all pro. Good teams don't get rid of all pros. They keep the ones they have and develop new ones before they even think of replacing what they have.

Yes. I loved Landry. Playmaker. Wish we still had him. My favorite player hands down. That said.. did he score often?
Ryan needed Red Zone help.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Landry was a deep threat. In the red zone you need to look to your tight ends and running backs.

I was about to end it there and I thought about some intellectual innocent coming back and stating that there HAS been in the history of the NFL wide receivers who have caught passes in the end zone from the red zone. Yes, But we are talking the majority, not the exception.

Let me try this again. It isn't important to me how much he makes, I don't pay him, can he help me win? I don't really care about his stat line, either. What I know is that when I need him to make a catch to get a stagnant offense rolling, he makes the catch. When I need a first down, the QB throws him the ball, he makes the catch and gets the first down. I don't care where he lines up, he is an effective wide receiver. Some people bitched that he didn't score enough, so he doubled his touchdowns and made himself an important red zone asset. Whatever they asked him to do, he did. Reality trumps stat lines every time.

"Landry was a deep threat."

One thing Landry wasn't was a deep threat. He didn't have the speed for it.

He was a killer slot receiver with YAC ability.

Yeah, I remember him racing up the sideline for big chunks of yardage. No, I didn't mean that he was famous for catching the long ball. Tanny didn't have time to do that given his poor pocket protection and the fact that he really isn't a pocket QB.

And why can't you evrr just admit......sorry guys. I WAS WRONG. He's not a deep threat. Lol.

I don't know what's more pathetic, your arguments or knowledge of football .

And of course you took that as an insult against your boyfriend, Tanny.

But you were giving him a compliment just moments ago?

You don't even know the difference between a slot receiver and a deep tbreat and you want people to trust your judgement on a QB? One that had a 100% QB rating before his last game? Lol.....

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

This is a big deal in your mind, huh? This can't be a slip of the tongue in your mind. It has to be that, despite how long I have been following pro football, longer than you have been alive, I don't know the difference between the bomb and the breakaway. That really only speaks to your own nitwit nature.
