charlse harris is the pick supposed to go into the second round.....there s been a few reaches in this draft including the 2nd pck overall.....now the dolphins disappoint again....
You call 6'3" - 260 lbs undersized? Sounds like the perfect sized OLB to me.
Plus he runs a 4.8 40.
A great start at stopping the run and pressuring the Q.
I like it a lot!
Not a Fancy Wow pick . But a very good defensive player. That's a meat and potatoes pick.I wanted Lamp but that's why I'm a cop and NOT a NFL coach.......
I will have to trust that Grier and the scouting department did their homework. I am sure they had their reason for picking him over Foster who is still in free fall (diluted sample, potential attitude, potential shoulder issue).
ESPN (Kiper?) put Harris at the 17th best prospect, NFL Mayock gave him a 1st round grade. I think it was one ESPN commentators who said that he looked faster on film and had somewhat disappointing measurable at the combine. I would rather have some who produces than workout warrior. Grier said Miami target him as 1 of 2 players at 22, so at least publicly, the Miami draft room supposedly wasn't scrambling when they were picking. Time will tell, it is a position of need. I would still like to see a LB drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Teams only control player for 4 or 5 years on their rookie deal, before they get to that more expensive 2nd contract. If a team draft really well they can't afford to keep all their players. If a team is successful only a handful of core player are kept.

I don't know. Harris seems like a really solid pick. Dolphins can't afford to take a chance on another dirty testing high risk DE. The second coming of Dion Jordon? No thank you. REUBEN was passed by every team for a reason.
Im OK with Harris he is special as a rusher and has the skill to get around nfl tackles.
My problem is he is very much like Wake who I think is good for another year. We did not have to replace Wake this year. Im reading where we passed up 2 trade opportunities to keep the 22nd pick.
Im kind of frustrated by this because it shows our front office is still not too savvy when it comes to trades.
In 2016 we trade our #4 to grab Howard when I think he would have been there for us at our original spot. If not Howard there would have been at least 2 other corners out there.
Also we gave up our 3 & 4 this year for Caroo in 2016.
We needed extra picks this year. Make the trade.
Not recognizing when to hold or throw in your cards is not good.
