Just went past #16.
Anyone have any idea who we're looking at?

Last mock i saw had us taking TJ Watt.

I like it.
Any thoughts?

jabrill peppers is still on the board.......But he tested positive for some substance or something like that....

It looks like either Reuben Foster LB or Charles Harris DE could be available. I wonder if Miami could trade back.

CB Gareon Conley is also still available.

charlse harris is the pick supposed to go into the second round.....there s been a few reaches in this draft including the 2nd pck overall.....now the dolphins disappoint again....

this dude is a tweener for a de.....Will get pushed around in the pros....Unless he gains 30 pounds of pure muscle which is nearly impossible.

He looks a little undersized.

We probably go corner in the secnd....But there is been a lot of dbs taken already....

I remember last year people saying this draft ws a good draft for rbs.......but not many rbs gone in the first round....

I bet a lot of them go in the second and third.....We still have 7 picks so we might find a couple of gems yet.

We could have solidify our OL on the left side for the next 10yrs with Lamp

We could have solidified our left side of OLine for the next 10yrs if we drafted Lamp

You call 6'3" - 260 lbs undersized? Sounds like the perfect sized OLB to me.
Plus he runs a 4.8 40.
A great start at stopping the run and pressuring the Q.
I like it a lot!

Re: Draft Thread

he is not 6'3 he is 6'2 and not 260....but 250....

you are right though on they might turn him into a LB.

Re: Draft Thread

Not a Fancy Wow pick . But a very good defensive player. That's a meat and potatoes pick.I wanted Lamp but that's why I'm a cop and NOT a NFL coach.......

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I will have to trust that Grier and the scouting department did their homework. I am sure they had their reason for picking him over Foster who is still in free fall (diluted sample, potential attitude, potential shoulder issue).

ESPN (Kiper?) put Harris at the 17th best prospect, NFL Mayock gave him a 1st round grade. I think it was one ESPN commentators who said that he looked faster on film and had somewhat disappointing measurable at the combine. I would rather have some who produces than workout warrior. Grier said Miami target him as 1 of 2 players at 22, so at least publicly, the Miami draft room supposedly wasn't scrambling when they were picking. Time will tell, it is a position of need. I would still like to see a LB drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Maybe he can play linebacker?

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Teams only control player for 4 or 5 years on their rookie deal, before they get to that more expensive 2nd contract. If a team draft really well they can't afford to keep all their players. If a team is successful only a handful of core player are kept.

The Steelers take Watt to replace Timmons.

Most draft gurus rate our pick at A or A-. Not bad.

we just took the next michael sam without the social justice nonsense.

we had a top 10 talent fall into our laps and passed on foster. TJ Watt is just scratching the surface and is a playmaker.

I can see Tbaum trading all of our 5ths to get a 2nd 3rd and we end up with 4 players this draft.

locked in on 1 or 2 players for months is no way to set a draft board.

Re: Draft Thread

I don't know. Harris seems like a really solid pick. Dolphins can't afford to take a chance on another dirty testing high risk DE. The second coming of Dion Jordon? No thank you. REUBEN was passed by every team for a reason.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Re: Draft Thread

The con on Harris was that he had trouble with big tackles, and that was at the college level. Sounds undersized.

Im OK with Harris he is special as a rusher and has the skill to get around nfl tackles.

My problem is he is very much like Wake who I think is good for another year. We did not have to replace Wake this year. Im reading where we passed up 2 trade opportunities to keep the 22nd pick.

Im kind of frustrated by this because it shows our front office is still not too savvy when it comes to trades.

In 2016 we trade our #4 to grab Howard when I think he would have been there for us at our original spot. If not Howard there would have been at least 2 other corners out there.

Also we gave up our 3 & 4 this year for Caroo in 2016.

We needed extra picks this year. Make the trade.

Not recognizing when to hold or throw in your cards is not good.

I read that harris is a player they targeted from the beginning and that they really wanted. I even heard it on the radio today.

Also i saw him going as high as 19th in some mock drafts...

I heard on the radio.....Quote: Like last year or before like parker..or tunsil....harris fell to them and they took advantage.....

So far we have hit IMO on both first rounder since the change in office.......Tunsil and parker now if harris works out we are almost there...

The front office is looking good so far....

I will settle for that we have the next bruce smith on our hands.

He made marinos sundays really enjoyable at times.
