Tunsil willbe starting by the first game of the season....He had a great block on a screen pass by doughty.
This starting Oline they need to tweek it.......Insert laremy tunsel take out on of the scrub Guards that are in there. I suppose they will do that once they have an idea and see tunsil a bit more/
I do like that jakeem grant is taking landrys job from him of returning punts and kickoffs...Grant is ellectric.
I like that we got better as the game went on....But against scrubs.
Very vanilla on first team offense...a few runs and a couple of passes by tannehill......no passes went for over 5 yards i think.
alonzo forgot how to tackle but the Dline was missing their main 3 starters so i guess he will be better once they come back and close some holes...
Id like to see doughty develop behind tannehill for a couple of years.
Pead RB has some good cuts...
Dont take mike hull off special teams please....he has a knack for making tackles....
Anybody know who started as guards today?
Devante parker didnt play i guess its precationary...
Once we have the starters in place we have some talent on this team....
The Oline has some depth...
Juwann james with a hold penalty...
Mike pouncey opened up a hole real nice for the RB.
The starting offense was disappointing, 2x 3 and outs. Tannehill got hit 3 of the 4 times he went back to pass. No holes for the RB, holding call on a run. The starting offensive line didn't play well. This has to be fixed.
The 'starting' defense looked like it was over pursing on the 1st couple drives. I think they had 5 starter resting. Beside the 1st drive they held the Giants in check.
The depth of team seems better than last year. Last year this team was getting blown out when the back up were in.
I thought RB Damian Williams didn't look good, too much sideline to sideline running not enough north-south.
Miami Rookie class seemed to play well - Dourty, Grant, Caroo, Duarte.
TC--it's been damn hot and humid to boot. I understand your discomfort.
Game was typical of first preseason with 2nd, 3rd and 4th string players trying to impress. Most didn't. Despite the win, and some voicing an impressive note about Doughty, it's far to early to know much about any of the new players (rookies or veteran FAs).
Dline looked good. DBs were amazing. Linebacker seem to be playing strictly assignments, they are not swarming and hitting.
Offensive scheme, playcalling is bad. Oline showed no effort. RBs are slow. Pead ran with purpose and he distinguished himself. TEs were non existent. WRs are awesome but with the QBing and poor coaching there will be issues.
Woke up at 7am. Couldn't stay awake. Only saw enough to see that our defense didn't seem to be able to stop the run.... as usual...(in the few possessions I saw that is). That was only based on a few sleepy head possessions, hoo.

Crappy day for me Friday. Just finished my reports late yesterday afternoon. Man I was bummed about missing the Phins. Rarely happens.
I got to watch some of the game on a cable repeat on the South Florida Public channel. I saw the Oline collapse around Tannehill after 1 snap. He still got a nice reception off while going down. I'm sorry. That Oline needs to step it up. We had no running game either. GASE has his work cut out for him. A Good coach works with our strengths and weaknesses. Standing tall in the pocket is not an option for Tanny behind this line. They will have to change it up with bootlegs , or go shotgun. Terrible.

The QB can MAKE the time by shifting in the pocket, pump faking, change the intonation on his calls to draw the defense off-sides, etc.. You can't JUST blame the O-Line for sacks.
I agree with victor to an extent. Tannehill has to be able to feel the pressure and move around but he turner and thomas experiment needs to end.
We drafted Tunsil at 13. We signed Urbik and Bushrod in FA. Insert Tunsil and LG and Bushrod/Urbik and right guard and move on. Turner and Thomas are 'break glass in case of emergency' depth at this point.
Enough of the tinkering. This isn't REC ball. Their are no minimum play requirements. You drafted/signed these guys for a reason. You owe nothing to turner and thomas. Move them off the starting line ASAP and insert the future. Let these guys gel the rest of the preseason.

Agreed! We've been tinkering with the O-Line since Sparano was here. It's time to pick 5 guys and stick with them.

Oh.....you mean good coaching options that teach different skills ? Philbin wouldn't change the Fing snap count!!!!What makes you think he would uncuff him to make decisions?
Looks like Foster is going to make his debut on friday, that should help open things up for RT if he's even close to the running form he was in two seasons ago.
