I think Ajayi just needs time. He lost time due to injury and that always sets players back. I wouldn't count on him as the bell cow just yet but I think he is likely to be much better this year.

What do you people think of Joey Bosa?

I am intrigued and hesitant at the same time.

He has 26 sacks and 51 tackles for loss in three seasons at OSU.

JJ Watt had 36.5 TFL and 11.5 sacks in 3 seasons (2 at Wis and 1 at Central Mich)

Would anyone trade up for this guy? OV at weak side and this guy on the strong side?

Don Shula used a first round pick (16) in 1987 on his father, who never panned out. He only played 3 years.

I will just settle for him to play as well as he played this past year........with the difference of staying healthy and playing the entire year.....got chunks of yardage on many carries. He runs hard and breaks tackles...

I dont think Miller is worth any real money... He is ok and for the right price I would keep him but that is about it... He gets caught from behind, isnt much a jook guy, and often doesnt take much more then grabbing his shoelace to take him down.... His best attribute last year IMO was his receiving skills.

I think we need more of a power back who can break tackles and make guys miss then a RB of Lamar Millers style.. On the right team with Oline guys that open big holes and are able to block LB's on the next level Miller would probably really shine.. We arent that team...

Yea, Miller has had the benefit of running behind a great OL and what's his yards per carry?

4.6 yards!

His initial burst is excellent and the dude is a legit big play threat on every carry. That's what I see. he has legit 4.4 speed and has worked on his game since he's been here.

And of course -- he's still ONLY 24 years old!

We should get rid of him.

The name Bosa just brings back bad memories to me.

There's ZERO chance I'd trade up for the kid.

I think he's somewhat of a "system" player.

He should be a solid pro -- but I don't see more than that.

But hey, I could be totally wrong.

He had a couple decent games, for example take out just one game, the Houston game which skews his stats and he avg less then 4 yards a carry last year... The majority of his games (9) he avg less then 4 yards a carry. Nothing to pay top dollar for... At the right price, keep him but that is about it...

The long runs he broke, were defensive errors, there was no one around him but maybe a LB chasing him from behind when he got to the second level..

Agreed, BNF, Miami can't afford to lose a guy like OV, but they will lose him.

OV is going to be looking for a big pay day, and he will get it, just not with Miami, as they don't have the funds. Too many holes to fill to use up their money on one guy.

OV will not be giving Miami a hometown discount, either.

Bosa won't be there at 8. I don't think Miami can afford to trade up with all the holes they have to fill (with more coming due to FA).

Now, if Miami has a 3-year plan where they can afford to not have all their draft picks, then maybe Miami would try something like that. However, the Miami FO would really have to do their homework to determine if Bosa is good enough to trade up for.

BTW, his father only lasted three years in Miami due to injury.

I kept saying it so many times that I got tired. Just like I preach about Tannehill being used more like Cam, I said Lamar (as good as he has been) would have even been better if he got the ball out in space such as pitchouts and screens.

He's not Larry Csonka, like we try to use him. He's not even Mercury Morris.

We try to use him like we used Rob Konrad.

Miami will have 30-40 mil in cap space this year.

I wouldn't be so sure about him not giving a discount. This is a 25 year old kid who has never lived anywhere but south Florida. He has charities here as well as all of his family. The difference in price could be negligible when you include no state tax. He's also someone who is living his dream already. He grew up as a Miami Dolphin fan and his dream was to play for Miami.

Do you really think another team is going to offer 10+ mil a year to a guy who averages 7 sacks a year? Robert Quinn signed a deal in 2014 that pays him 11 mil per year and that was after a 19 sack year.

Think about the teams that have state taxes. That's about all but 5 teams. Then think about who runs a 3-4. That's about half the league. Some could project him as such but maybe not. Then think about who spends big in FA and who has the money...and finally who needs a 4-3 DE. The market will dwindle pretty fast when you start eliminating all those teams.

It's not a foregone conclusion but I'd say we have a pretty good chance of re-signing him.

Sean Smith Was terrible. Stone hands
I think we go D Ramsey Mack Hargreaves,Lawson

then Nick martin

If we take Stanley we need to take Su'a Cravens

Le Raven Clark Sebastian Tretola, Landon Turner OL or Deiondre hall CB
4th kevin Hogan QB Stanford

No to trading up for Bosa. He was a stat monster against bad teams and disappeared for long stretches in the big games.

Since we're still 2-3 years away if one of the DBs isn't there I'd take Jaylon Smith.

This guy was hands down a top 5 pick before his injury. Get him and bring him along slowly.

We ain't winning next year anyway.

I don't see anyone that will actually be around at 8 as someone we HAVE to have...thin at the top.

There is no Leonard Williams type at DT, not a group of pass rushers like Dante Fowler, Vic Beasley, Bud Dupree, Shane Ray and Randy Gregory on the edge. No Luke Keuchley at MLB.

This may be a great opportunity to stock pile some much needed picks and move down with a team looking for a QB. Or move down a couple times...

I think we can say goodbye to OV. Vinny Curry just signed a 5 year 47.5 mil deal with Philly. That's 9.5 mil per year on average. He has 62 tackles and 16.5 career sacks in 4 years.

OV has 188 tackles and 29 sacks.

That's just plain ridiculous although Curry did have 9.5 sacks as a 43 DE in 2014 and regress in transition to a 3-4 OLB. They are banking on potential as the Viking did with Everson Griffen in 2014. He had 17.5 sacks up to that point and put out 22.5 over the next two years.

Curry was taken 14 picks (59) ahead of OV (72) in 2012. (I'll take the guy picked one spot lower than VC....Osemele (60)).

Would you give OV 10 mil a year? We may have little choice. If we clear 35 mil in cap space and spend 10 on OV, 5 on Lamar Miller....that leaves us with 20 mil.

Man we are screwed at DE!

We have to pay OV fair market value with perhaps a slight home town discount. That's what it's gonna take.

Make the cap room as necessary and do NOT go big spending in FA.

Build through the draft and develop talent.

We can follow that plan at play at least 500 ball next season IMO.

Get to 600-700 in 17.

And for sure in playoffs with serious upside after that.

No more one year wonders.

If we suck we suck. It's not like we're not used to that at this point.

BNF.

Or just get the right players for once. Carolina is among the league leaders in FA acquisitions currently on the roster. Denver is right up there as well.

Difference being, Carolina hasn't overspent as often but they did give Jared Allen 8.5 mil per year at 33 years old (AND a 6th round pick).

Denver has given fat contracts to all sorts of FA's but they have produced at a high level.

In the last couple of years we have gotten good players when we overpaid. It's the mid-range deal players that have killed us with poor play.

Either way, you have to be successful in the draft AND FA.

oh...and stop letting good players walk.

The sad part is that Dion Jordan has already made 11.7 million more than OV. That's just messed up.
