Wow, really. That is disgusting!
You would think it be smart to catch a player like OV earlier in his contract (once he's proven to be a legit player) and up the ante for him with the benefit of extended terms.
It seems like everyone is managing the Cap situation with very short lead times. Trying the milk the "cheap" years as much as possible while ignoring the impending FA fallout.
We've certainly did that with Miller and OV.
And when you out in the market like we did for Suh and pay insane $$$ -- I would think some players notice that.
My opinion. Of course.
BNF.

Well BNF, I don't think that's possible except for 1st round picks.
I believe it was part of the new slotted pay scale for draft picks. The teams have 5th year options with their first rounders and don't with subsequent rounders.
I could be completely wrong but it's something like that.
OV = 3.86 mil career earnings
DJ = 15.5 mil career earnings (would have been more if not for susp.)
Shelby = 4 mil career earnings
Shelby had the benefit of going undrafted in the same year and only getting a 3 year deal. Miami had to designate a RFA tag on him at 2.4 mil last year. This guy was suspended by the team in 2014.
You're right. It is sickening. Gonja boy sitting at his fat crib getting stoned while OV works his ass off and is man of the year nominee. Shelby is getting drunk, feeling up women at the club and getting busted for trespassing and resisting arrest without violence.
The more I think about it the more I want to see OV get paid!

Vernon is as good as gone. He's already said there will be no hometown discount and he is going to get 45-60 million from another team...just too rich for us right now. Wake will be back because he's open to taking a pay cut provided he can still play.
We are going to have to make a choice...Miller or Vernon. Miller wins because he's cheaper. Almost no way we keep them both.
He WAS a great player but now he is a declining player who cannot pass protect to save his life. Not sure how that helps us.
These are the type of players (and contracts) that have killed us in the past. FA's should be on the upswing, not the other way around (unless you are making a late summer addition as an injury replacement).
Especially for a position that has been our Achilles heel. It's time to finally fix that spot. There are too many other FA linemen available who can pass protect. This should be a priority, not a used band-aid.

Did you see where Sua Cravens is a cousin of our TE, Jordan Cameron and Manti Teo?

Right now Im wondering where the front office is going with this thing. Not bringing in a solid guard in free agency right now makes me think they are going after Whitehair. I would have liked the Bushrod move 3 years ago but now? Turner imo has never looked better than Thomas and needs to be kicked back out to tackle.
We still have money in 3 clicking injury time bombs. Cameron, Albert and Wake. Cameron would have been cut and Wake would have taken a pay cut. We cannot do much w/ Albert but make sure we improve our deph as we did w/ by adding Bushrod and Young (who did have some good games w/ JAX last season).
Just have to see how this hand gets played. 8-8 9-7 then we are on the right track. The repetitive nightmare in my head right now is Tanne stringing Parker out in game 1 of 2016 and he gets creamed and is out for an extended period. Somebody say P Lynch in round 1?
My heads really spinning on the Phins right now.
As I previously mentioned I cannot believe that every guard you insert in our O sucks. Tanne was getting killed when Incog was here. I still think its a matter of coaching and our center. As terrible as these guys are Miller can thank them for his new contract. They did some things right in the run O. They lack consistency.

1-15 here we come.
And we'd be lucky to win the 1 game.....just like when camarillo ran away with the victory against the ravens.
