Well here we have it. Now that Gase is the new head coach, the Dolphins decide to hire the guy who replaced Kevin Coyle in Cincinnati.
So here we go again. Although Gase is highly touted, he has no experience as a head coach. And what's with the love affair with the Bengals defensive backs coaches? Didn't we learn anything from Coyle?
This is like deja vu here! A new head coach and defensive coordinator with zero experience at what they've been hired for. Sounds like more of the same to me...Philbin & Coyle 2.0.
I am really not impressed with Stephen Ross and this front office. I wish he'd put this f'ing team up for sale already. Seriously.
With this gase hire it was imperetive we hire coordinators who did it before. Huge mistake. Our locker room is a mess and they are trotting out coaches in thier first jobs. How is that gonna fix anything?

This is a really a rabbit punch in the back of the head. Ok you want to hire a baby sitter for Tannehill hire the guy as a qb coach. Lovie Smith is out there but Gase cannot have someone on staff who has more qualifications than him so he hires someone at DC who has not coordinated jack **** before.
Im really bummed this stinks. Move the Phins to LA Im finished w/ them. (for the next hour)
I agree, I dont understand how a guy was hired the same week he was preparing and the same day he was coaching a play off game...
If we didnt at least try for Jim Schwartz as the DC, I dont get it.. Unless he is hired as a HC, Schwartz is undoubtedly be the best DC available by far....

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

Yes. Schwartz would be a good get. Gase is going to need an established DC just so he can focus on the offense...especially since he is calling plays and will likely name one of his former co-workers (Detroit under Martz) as OC.
AND Joseph has NOT been hired. it was a tweet by Rappaport that was run with....he later corrected himself as saying joseph will be in the running. SPECULATION.

Well, Joseph was officially hired. I would have MUCH preferred an experienced DC than another learn on the job guy, but at least the reports of on Joeseph are that he can command a room and is an up and comer. I am wary of yet another Cincy DB coach after Coyle but clearly the Phins are trying to disprove the old definition of insanity....

Overall I really like the youth movement and Joseph has some serious upside.
Obviously the "issue" with youth is the lack of proven experience --- but at this point in my Dolphin fan career I'll take the upside over sundry retreads, has-beens and never-beens like Philbin.
Speaking of vomit, as it turned out -- Philbin was even more incompetent inept incapable than we had interpolated. What's happening now has got to be an uptick from there...
That said, after looking at the coaches being hired -- I see some positive possibilities if nothing else.
Joseph coached under Wade Phillips for 3 years in Houston. Phillips is one of the best DC's in the league, IMO.
The Broncos had Joseph slated as their DC last year but were denied by Cincy. They chose Wade Phillips instead.
Marvin Lewis said they blocked the move because Joseph was a "star" and they wanted to keep him. He used to travel with Lewis and Paul Guenther to scout players.
All I know is lately reading this board is like stabbing my eyes with a fork. Nothing but bitching and pessimism. I get that you're pissed off, but to pour negativity and sarcasm into EVERY post is just ridiculous. If all you think about is how shitty your team is going to be, well that's all you'll ever get.
First this team has 15 to 20 or more cancerous players that they need to release.....They are of the ones that when the tough gets going the quit......I dont know who they are......Will be very hard to be cured of this disease.......
Second.....We have not a decent coach on this team....
Third the owner is clueless.......He likes to hire celebrities without a clue to be his partners.
Forth we have no QB. No OLine, The cbs stink....The LBs are even worse.
Receivers we have 2.....Landry and parker showed some flashes...Jury still out on him. Has potential.
Rbs....Watch lamar miller jump ship for a better chance of making playoffs.
Overall we are a huge mess....
And its going to take years of therapy to cure the desease that is the miami dolphins.
