This team gave up after Ross announced philbin was coming back after the vikes game last year. Since then they came out flat to blow the end of last season and even worse this season. You could see this debacle coming. Team quit on coach last year and continues to do so till his lame ass gets fired. I am disgusted but anyone with a brain would not have gotten swept up in a win against a bad Minnesota team and announced philbin back. We coulda had Dan Quinn or anyone else would be better than this pile of manure.

We're also stuck with an inept QB to boot.

Paid a ton of money to a barely qualified back up.

Only question that remains... who is the interim head coach?

Of all the problems our team has; coaching, OL, DL, etc. QB is wayyyyyy down the list.

That's been the mantra since 2001.

Not for me it hasn't. To me Tannehill shows the most potential since then. But he needs a more complete offense to show that potential.

I dunno. Give him Griese's offensive line and running backs, yes, he would succeed. But he wouldn't have to do much more than hand off the ball.

However, give him Marino's offensive line and great receivers, I don't think he does any better than he is doing now.

And that might just be the way of looking at the whole quarterback quetion and assessing just what Tanny means.

So......your saying Griese wasn't a great QB? eye popping smileyo

You people need to stop comparing Ryan to others. last I checked, Luck wasn't do so great either. He's thrown 7 INTs in the last 2 games.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

No Treasure the point wasn't that Griese, the very reason I am a Dolphin fan since 1967, wasn't a great QB. But to say that that Offensive line could make anyone succeed.

The point is that Ryan cannot succeed with our oline. Now either you change Ryan (or the way he plays) or you change the oline (but we've been trying to do that since 2008).

Ross was too loyal to Philbin, and Philbin was too loyal to Sherman and Coyle. In football, the only way people can be judged is with winning.

Well put...

I always thought that Don Shula's downfall was that he was loyal to a fault to Tom Olivadotti. If he'd canned his ass and hired a real Defensive Coordinator, who knows what might've happened.

I always believed that too.

RT would do just fine behind Marino's OL. They could pass block, but sucked at run blocking.

Sorry- Cap, I disagree. The reason I don't think he does any better is that his problem with "doing more than the dink and the dunk passing" is not JUST lack of time.

As I pointed out LAST YEAR when everyone was giving me hell for calling for Philbin to be fired....Just look at Tanny's eyes and his body even when he is in the pocket and not being sacked but the sackers are pressing in on the pocket.

He looks like a scared rabbit. He just doesn't like it. His body is saying, "the only thing that can happen to you in a CELL is for the warden to come and get you and take you out to be executed." That's what his expression is.

When he runs the read option, he looks like a gunslinger with all the confidence in the world.

And half the time when he is in the pocket and 2) is not sacked and even 3) a sacker is nowhere near............He either overthrows or underthrows his receivers. Now granted a couple of times yesterday the receiver blew it but I'm talking about usually, not every time.

Now you can try to put a camel in a horse race and keep losing those races.....but I'd rather put the camel up against any number of horses as to an endurance trek across the desert! That the camel will win.

Tannehill is not now nor will ever be....a pocket quarterback and if given Griese's line, he won't get sacked as much but he damn sure would miss as many receivers ON THE DEEP BALL as he does now. His passing percentage on short range passes would remain the same.

JMO.
