Omar Kelly is cunning like a fox. He says controversial things because he can and knows there will be guys supporting him as well as calling him nuts. Some other guy did that a lot--I used to scream at the TV listening to him on MNF. Yeah, you know him. Howard Cosell.
Omar doesn't like message boards because it is a conversation you have with people on different ideas about our team.. He likes to speak down to people and block anyone that questions his ridiculousness.. That is why he knocks it... He can't handle being questioned about his nonsense and people having an equal platform to do so.. He would be laughed off just about every message boards about the Phins... Hence his position... Just more of the same from Omar, and as usual it consist of nonsense while talking down to people...

Omar is a tool, and a tool that has little football acqumen at that. Can't stand the guy, never gave his positions much thought, and consider him just a mouth in front of a balloon of hot fecal smelling air.

I agree. Basically a dull turd. He isn't funny, witty, smart, knowledgeable, insightful, nor does he bring any info to the public about the phins that any other person with his creditials couldn't bring. Personally I think he's a waste of a carbon footprint.

LOL you're reminding me of the time you found that old MNF clip from a Tampa Bay game where a banner saying "Howie Sucks" got on live TV

If Philip Rivers is truly on the trade market the Dolphins better be making a call to find out the price.

If that hurts your feelings Patience Brigade then toughen up. Dolphins tried to trade for Jimmy Graham after tagging Charles Clay. HELLO!

"@luisbams10: Nonsense Tannehill better, younger and cheapier"» in what year of his career has Tannehill been better than Rivers? I'll wait

"@76dolphin: Tannehill for Rivers and our 1st in 2015?"» If Rivers agrees to multi-year extension the Chargers would have a deal from me.

Other than dragging our interest in Graham into the debate, he has a point.
Do you want 4-5 years of Rivers or 7-10 years of RT17??
Rivers is a top 5 caliber QB. RT17 is a guy who MAY project to that level. MAY.
I don't think I'm giving them a mid 1st in that deal, but I'd have to consider it.
Tannehill and Rivers were pretty even QB's last year and at this point in both of their careers. The difference is Tannehill is on his way up as shown by his progress each year. Rivers 3rd and 4th years of his career were not as good as Tannehills 3rd year... So to say Rivers is better is just not accurate.. Rivers numbers took off in his 5th year, Tannehill hasn't even reached that point..
Rivers is 7 years older then Tannehill.. SO in simple terms all things being equal, you have 7 more years of Tannehll then what Rivers can offer.. I wouldn't take Rivers at his age in his career for Tannehill in his stage of his career even if you gave me San Diegos 1st rd pick... TO think otherwise is shortsighted and the proverbial not being able to see the forest in the trees logic...

I think the easy answer is to say keeping RT is a no-brainer.
All I'm saying is there is a legitimate argument to be made for a proven commodity over the guy with promise.
If I am a GM, let alone one who didn't draft RT, I figure I have a 3-4 year window to succeed and prove I'm the long term answer. Choosing to go with a proven commodity who has 4 full seasons with a 100+ passer rating on his resume isn't a bad move. He might not have the long term upside of a younger QB like RT, but he also isn't as big a financial risk.
He has been durable, but a bulging disc could be troublesome, especially for a QB.
I get what you're saying but I've just never been a huge fan of Rivers (maybe it's the awkward throwing motion or something?). He hasn't won more than 9 games the last 5 years, not sure that's a huge upgrade over RT17? I'd rather roll the dice with him, it's all a moot point anyways because this whole discussion was born out of one morons veiled cheap shot at Tanny.
Rivers isn't going anywhere, guys. If anything were to happen, it would be Tennessee, but even that is a long shot.
The reason (he says) he refuses to sign a new contract, is due to the uncertainty of the Chargers possibly moving to Los Angeles, and he doesn't want to make that move. Evidently, he has something against LA if he hasn't commented about being traded somewhere else. LA is only a couple of hours away, so what is the big deal?
San Diego is presently working overtime to build a new stadium, which would keep the Chargers in San Diego. The NFL has given San Diego a deadline to get this done. Now it is up to the counsel and the Chargers to get this thing in play.
San Diego never took the Chargers moving serious, until now. With the proposal to build a new stadium in LA, the city of SD has finally gotten their act together and are working hard.
People don't like Omar because he is not eaten up with Tannehill, but is basically it.
I am not a big fan of Tannehill, but I would not trade him for Rivers who I think is an equal QB. Rivers has never impressed me despite people talking about how great he is.
