Ran a 4.38 at the combine a few years back. Wallaces replacement next year?

In 2013 he led the league in QB rating when thrown to....139.3 rating.
8th in league in lowest drop rate. Tied for 14th in catch rate for deep passing (with Brian Hartline)

2014: 931 yards and 3 td's, 14.8 ypr.

#1 in deep passing catch rate, 38th in drop rate, 15th in QB rating of 112.0

Ellerbe was like throwing in a box of jock straps, but a 3rd? Good/bad?

Hartline's replacement this year.

If this a 4th or lower its a steal.

A source told me that Drew Brees was not happy with either Ben Grubbs or Kenny Stills. No coincidence that they're both gone.

I wouldn't be so sure. They have also been trying to trade Wallace. Stills skills fit better at flanker IMO. We still need that physical WR to play split end. Every rumor about Miami so far has come true.

Wallace and Ellerbe were reported to be restructuring and now Ellerbe is traded to a team trying to clear cap space...

Mike Wallace to Philly? for Evan Mathis and a pick?

Saints acquire Dannell Ellerbe and a 3rd round pick for WR Kenny Stills. Love the trade for Miami. Stills is very young, good and cheap...

Yeah that sure as hell better be a conditional 3rd rounder. Stills imo has not proven that he's worth a 3rd pick.

Hmmm Tanne to N.O. for Brees?

Tannenbaum has found another rich sucker in Ross.

First the big splash with Suh, then giving more money to scrambled eggs at TE because of name recognition now it begins with pissing away draft picks.

Come draft day he'll package half of our picks to move up for Kevin White. He'll mortgage the future pick wise and cap wise to win now but unfortunately we're not a player or two away.

Maybe he can lure Brett Favre out of retirement!

A lot of speculation this signals the end of the Mike Wallace era, either in trade or as a June 1st cut. WR may still(s) be in play at 14

I would agree.....Get a sure thing and solidify the wire receiver position for a long time.

So we gave up pick 78. Last year Chris Borland was taken at 77, Spencer Long at 78.

I love this trade.

NFL ready starting speed WR for a 3rd at NFL minimum salary for 2 years.

Also get out from under the Ellerbe contract...

What's not to like?

Next call is to the raiders..."you guys have a ton of cap space you have to spend and are striking out in free agency...we'll give you Wallace for a 2nd?"

I like it. Then use our original 2nd round pick to trade up for Amari Cooper.

1 Cooper
2 Cameron Irvin (hat trick for Camerons)

Past 3rd round picks: Billy Turner, Dallas Thomas, Michael Egnew, John Jerry, Patrick Turner, Kendall Langford, Lorenzo Booker

If you look at it like this.......they say, prospects are suspects

Or trade down a few spots and pick up a replacement 3rd or 2nd...

The #Dolphins are still trying to sign TE Charles Clay to a long-term extension. Trade gives them more cap room.

Interesting

There were better players picked after each of those guys. This is the first off season move that I don't like but the potential is there to make me end up liking it.

Does anyone have any idea/estimate of what our cap looks like now?

It was brilliant for the simple fact we got rid of Ellerbe and his contract...

Who needs a split end when you have a 2 TE set with Cameron and Clay?

I am indifferent about Stills, in my book we gave the Saints a 3rd to take Ellerbe and his contract with the offset, so we are free and clean on him... Biggest cap saver we could make.. And Still contracts is what $600,000 this year.... Brilliant move.....

Stills can do what Wallace did for us last year with potential for more...going into his 3rd (and key) year.

How about that? The first move Ireland had a hand in that didn't &*$# the Dolphins. Ellerbe was his guy. Not a coincidence.

I am just happy we no longer have Ellerbe on our roster.

That's true too, almost like a NBA move.
