I agree as good as Suh is, it is scary having that much money wrapped up in one defensive player... We need to save some cap money for other spots IMO... If they do it, I hope we have a really good plan for the other holes... Not another Ireland esq Hell Mary, (Wallace, Ellerbe, Wheeler contracts) by Hickey and Philbin trying to save their jobs... It would be a big move but also a very scary one...

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

It's doable but it'd have to be a 10 year deal to keep the cap hit as low as possible....we're (the NFL) headed there anyway might as well get ahead of the curve.

Sure thing like Albert Haynesworth? There is no such thing, Sam. Suh is one incident away from a multi-game suspension after the latest incident of stomping on Aaron Rodgers. At one mil per game. He's already had 2 suspensions and multiple fines.
Earl Mitchell was a 3rd tier DT who was also a projection from 3-4 NT to 3-4 DT. Not a good signing. He was not even good in Houston, IMO. I said 6-7 mil which gets you into upper tier 2. Dan Williams, Terrence Knighton, etc.
I agree its a lot of money and it makes me nervious too but that's the way top player salaries are going...if you want the best players you have to pay for them. Yes, I'd rather draft guys of our own but Suh makes a huge difference in our defense and the combination of Suh, Wake, Vernon, Jordan..et al would be pretty daunting.
There has to be a way to make a contract for Suh work without breaking our bank or salary cap...a 10 year contract might just be the ticket and the wave of the future.

Here’s the deal Suh will get from whatever team. The price is the price.
6 years, $110-115 mil with $57-60 million guaranteed

No way I'd offer him more than
Jj Watt. He's not a better player.
Hey if we fine Suh I in lala land. Dude has to be double teamed on every play and he still collapses the middle of the oline consistently. He automatically makes the tackle next to him a threat. Wake and Vernon will not get double teamed. Olinemen will no longer be able to get to our lb's.
If we can get this guy we should injuries we would just have to roll the dice on. Part of the game.
It doesn't matter that he played a different spot on the D-line. it;s about impact. Both players have a huge one but he is not better than Watt and we are going to pay him THREE TIMES the guaranteed money and 2.5 mil more per year?
He is no better than Gerald McCoy.
NO THANK YOU. That's a deal for a moron like Ireland.
