It starts with the HC. He's never came out and showed passion and enthusiasm towards his QB, and that mentality trickles down.

I remember after his 3rd start of his NFL career, Chuck Pagano said Andrew Luck was the best QB in the NFL (we all know damn well that wasn't true), but what it does is it build confidence within the locker room.

Joe simply refuses to do that.

Hartline didn't say anything out of line.

Basically said it's unfair to judge RT now. First year in new system, Lazor was tweaking his mechanics, etc.
Said he works very hard on his game, tough as nails. Played very well last 8 games. Just too soon to judge.

Most negative comments was from the hosts who said after Hartline had hung up that "he wasn't exactly oozing confidence about his young qb" that Hartline was kinda written out of the game plan but was capable of 1k seasons and handling 100 balls being thrown his way.

Of course they didn't mention that Hartline's two 1k seasons were with RT throwing him the ball.

It's really much ado about nothing. The bulk of the interview was about Ohio St and paying college athletes. They spent about 1min on tannehill.

Yes, Hartline wasn't heaping tons of superlatives on RT, so the hosts comments are true in that regard. But he didn't say anything negative at all. Just that RT is a work in progress in a new system and it's too early to judge him.

That new QB in a new system threw for 4000 yards! That is nothing to sneeze at.

That #1 passing game of the Colts didn't help too much yesterday when the Pats were running the ball down their throats.

The story of the day on Championship Sunday was the run game. Marshawn Lynch was able to bring his team back after 4 int's by Wilson. GB couldn't stop him.

They were also able to shut down the run game of GB at the end when GB was unable to close out the clock and also unable to finish with two of the top WR's in the game.

Moral of the story. You win in the trenches.

Yes...if your coach goes for it on the two fourth and one plays, even if you only convert on one of them, you win the game. Give the guys in the trenches the chance to win the game instead of kicking field goals, in that situation in what may be your final game of the year.

With new NFL rules aimed at improving the NFL passing game, it's funny how the 2 teams in the Superbowl are the ones that ran the best in their championship games.
