That's what I thought when I saw the date, but they really can't have it before free agency starts because a lot of the guys that might show up are still trying to work out deals with their current teams. The also can't do it the first week or more of FA since all the GM's are frantically trying to sign their top targets. Sort of a catch 22. There really isn't an optimal time to do it. What its going to boil down to is a chance to put those 2nd tier guys through some drills and stack them up for that FA rush after the draft. Re: NFL important upcoming dates
