I can't believe we're bringing this numbnut back for another underwhelming season!
I have absolutely no hope for next season. It's just going to be another replay of this season. Missing the playoffs again. There's no doubt about it!
But of coarse Ryan Tannehill will be retained because he completed 67% of his passes. Most of which were 8 yds or less.
My wish would be to trade him to Tampa for their #1 pick.
C'mon Hickey! Pull some strings!!
Yeah, the people on this board act like Philbin is Shula and Tannehill is Marino (I would have said Griese but just today I learned on this board that that HALL OF FAME QB was really not that good according to one poster that I really respect).
I never said he was not really good.... or that Tannehill is Marino or that Philbin is Shula.
BUT
Tannehill's future is bright. Philbin is here whether or not anyone likes it or how many thousands of posts they create to sound off about how bad he is and how much the Dolphins suck.

Average doesn't earn a championship. Philbin is what his w/l record exposes--about average. The Dolphins organization is about average too. Nothing special to write home to mom about.
Philbin is average at best.....but as a life long fan, the only thing I can hang my hopes on are what happened in Dallas this year, Jerry stuck with Jason Garrett and with improved play from his o-line, it seems to of paid off. The ball is in Hickey's court now......in the words of the great Big Black "DO WORK SON"
Just shows how important it is to have a good o-line in the NFL. Same could be said for Defense. Look at Detroit and Buffalo. The front four is making the entire team better.
That's why we should sign a top LG and draft another G/T high.

I think Billy Turner is one of the guards next year.
He played a bit yesterday when James got the stinger.
He looked the part, and played well. If he knows the assignments he's going to play next year.
That would help but as of today he is just following in DT's footsteps.
Although he did grade higher than Dallas Thomas did in any game in his limited 17 snaps. PFF shows him as playing RT with a grade of +.9. pretty sad DT never even got that high.

The major difference between them and us though, is they have two elite passing weapons and one of them just so happens to be the best WR in the game.
Phins don't have any where near the skill position players the Cowboys had.
We could have had Dez, but Ireland cared too much about his momma.
In all fairness, Miami didn't have the gumption (or resources) to babysit Dez the way Jerry Jones has for the last 4 years. I look for him to get a big contract and self destruct.
You see the difference in Romo this year? (114 QB rating) What's the one difference? He's always had top receivers.
I get it Aqua, but i'm not gonna give up on next year already, so it's something to hang my hat on. Philbin's not going anywhere, so you either try to find a sliver of hope or go away, it's that simple really.
Yea, The QB has NOTHING to do with it, IT'S all ABOUT THE OFFENSIVE LINE...I mean, WHAT is New England gonna do?!?!?!? Obviously Garappollo is a GREAT young QB with unlimited potential...Maybe the next Elway. But he can't play if he's running for his life, thats why he got sacked what 5 times and only threw for 90 yards yesterday!!! Somebody tell Belicheck all he needs to do is spend half his first round picks for the next 10 years on the O Line and Garappolo will win him more rings than that other guy...hey it has worked for us right???
The freakin' Phins have followed this logic since Wanny!!! IN TEN YEARS we have spent FOUR of our first round picks on OLine, including our ONLY #1 OVERALL SINCE 1966!!! In that time we are 74-102 (.420), have had only TWO winning seasons, been to the playoffs ONCE and won EXACTLY ZERO playy off games!!!
STOP the MADNESS!!! FIND SOME PLAYMAKERS!!! This is NOT 1970! It doesn't all have to 'Start in the trenches'!!! ARGGG!!!

We have playmakers on offense. Landry, Miller, Clay, Wallace.

KB--I stated that Hickey did a good job picking Landry and James...just an alright job picking Albert and Moreno. (The alright was based on their prior injuries, yet they were good players--both a risk--as it was confirmed when both went down and landed on IR).
As for Miller, I didn't believe he could blossom. He has behind our O-line. Run blocking appears to be acceptable with the players we have working right now. Whereas, the pass blocking and handling the rush seems to be their Achilles Heel. As I recall, we did pretty well with the rush with Albert at LT and rookie James at RT.
Based on Albert's injury, would you want him back on the team next season or opt to get another LT, one who is as good with no known major injuries? What about the guard positions? What are your thoughts there? What about Satele? He played C all 16 games. Keep him? Could he be a back-up for Pouncey at C?
