Fire Philben Now, there is nothing left to see. Philben got 3 years of training here, at our exspense. Every year I heard him say " I have to get better". Get better on someone else's dime! Stop waisting players lives, with your shitty coaching!
Had to go here with Beavis favorite word. In the new episodes in 2011 he pronounced it 7 times, even when banned. But in these forums we have no legal prohibition. Let's see. A QB with no running game (0) and equal wide receiving (0) assistance, plus a banged offensive line and 4 sacks was able to stick 346 yards in a hostile environment. A 22 W - 24 L record and counting. 100% unacceptable. In this game happened what I feared most. A massacre. Next two games in my opinion are out of the question. Not long ago I mentioned something similar. The musicians may play bad notes here and there, but the Conductor is the one summoned by the administrators of the Orchestra. Clearly he is no Toscanini, Abbado or Von Karajan. No Harbaugh please. Would call too much attention. A thing the organization does not need. These are the possible names: Mlke Nolan(had his name on another thread), Gary Kubiak, Ryan(talking about the twin with the long hair), Ken Whisenhunt. Solid work with Arizona. The Titans suck big time. Not his fault. He was very close to winning that Super Bowl. Well there it is. Avoid the Noid, Avoid the Noid, Avoid the Noid. Just like Beavis, I enjoy saying that.
Harbaugh Schmarbaugh. In case you didn't notice, he lost his team and front office, sounds like a cancer and BTW, was eliminated from the playoffs this week with the same record as Miami.
He reaped the benefits of a talented roster left to him by his predecessors.
He is a mercenary who will show up and likely make enemies of everyone and then leave for greener pastures in 3 to 4 years.
Then we are right back where we started. No thanks. Give me someone who wants to stick around for a decade or so. He is a California boy and his entire family is there. First opening that suits him there and he is gone.
Oh and did I mention, it will cost us a MUCH needed 1st round pick, if not two.
I have mixed emotions about Harbaugh. Part of me thinks he's a diva (going back to his playing days) and that he would be a JJ/Parcells re-do. But it's hard to argue with the results he got in SF. took a 6-10 team that hadn't had a winning season in 8 years and took them to two conference championship games and a superbowl in 3 years. WHOEVER we get we need:
-Someone who can build a team with the talent he has instead of trying to force a particular 'system' on to the field regardless.
-Someone who is a motivator and a big enough personality to give our team focus and fire.
-A good 'game time' coach who can adjust to whats happening in real time.
-Like someone said above, someone who DOSEN'T have a history of job hopping every 3-4 years.
Harbaugh fits a couple of those (maybe) and a couple he doesn't.

Let's see. Under Sparano our O-Line got worse every year. A point of strength became a point of weakness. Our passing game got worse every year as well. Meanwhile, our defense didn't improve year to year either. Under Wanny....same thing, different positions. Under Cam we just collapsed. Saban was a whole other issue.
On the other hand, under Philbin our O-Line, passing game, defense, and special teams have steadily improved. They've gotten more consistent and are playing better as a unit.

I'm not looking at record at this point. In fact, that's moot. We're out of the playoffs, and it would actually be BETTER for us to lose the rest of our games as it improves our draft status

Easier said than done is an understatement. Just look at the state our our franchise since Shula left!
I changed my vote to give him anther year.
We all knew there would be a degree of on the job training and, some aspects of his development have been painfully slow but, I really like what happened at the end of the half yesterday. How totally different from the roll over at the end of the half of the first Buffalo game.
Too bad he used up all the team's energy on that one drive and had nothing left for the second half. Maybe he can figure it out in the off-season.

What the heck we havent been competitive in 40 years whats another 40 lol
Poor Player Selection
Poor Game Management
Poor Fundamental Football skill training
I was all clear to get rid of him, last year. This year, the tidal wave has caught up and the rest of yas have joined on to the cause.
The one problem on getting rid of him, is that it is a gamble to find a coach-they all have some issues..and the current Dolphin roster is salary cap wrecked with big contracts to poor draft picks and really crappy players who tend to get injured.
I don't think Harbaugh will choose Miami, and even if he does-I'm not to big on him.

How about a burning desire to be a hc in the nfl?
Cowher has been out of the game for 8 full years.
I'm not saying the game has passed him bye, but if he was driven to be a great hc he'd be on the sidelines already.
I don't want a guy who needs money to convince him to coach. I want a guy who feels like he's gonna die if he's not coaching.

No but it was all predicated on him wanting to come back. I don't think he would make that decision lightly or because of the money he doesn't really need. he makes 4 mil a year in current position. if he cam back it would because he wanted to do it again or missed it.

That's my point Joe.
No doubt he was a terrific hc. But he's been the best candidate available for 8 years and he hasn't come back.
I think the choice between making 4mill a year working 3 days a week, 6 months a year ...or making 2x that money working 18 hours a day, 7 days a week for most of the year has already been made.
Don't give , Joe. The rest of us see your point. We are talking about someone who we would like. Availability is an entirely separate matter unless totally impossible. It's unlikely to get him or "Chucky" but not totally impossible. What we were doing above is discussing all possible options.
