Marino DID take us to a SuperBowl, unfortunately he ran into Joe Montana. I was sitting there in Stanford stadium with my best buddy who had been a 49ers fan for years as I had been a dolfan since Griese's rookie year.

Tannehill can not throw a deep ball. Just because he can through ten 15 yard passes he will never become elite without the deep ball. I like Tannehill and can win with him however I give Lazor most of the credit.

lol. Some of you guys are seriously saying you'd rather have Tannehill than Marino? Good Grief. Without Marino, the Dolphins teams of the late 80's and 90's look like the ones of the last 10 years.

Say what you want about no superbowl wins, Marino almost single handedly turned poor teams, with defenses that played EVERY DOWN ALL SEASON like ours did in the 3rd quarter Sunday, into contenders that beat many superbowl winning teams and went deep in to the playoffs SEVERAL times.

The Dolphins are my life long team, I'd like to see them back to relevance, and being a consistent contender just as much as I'd like to see another Superbowl ring. The 'team that shall not be named' hasn't won one in over 10 years now but their fans don't feel like wearing bags over their heads like I sometimes do.

LOL is right. I love Tannehill but I'll take Marino over anyone. Pair him up with this team and we are SB bound with the #1 offense in the league.

Well, if we're going there, I'll take Marino, or Elway, or Montana, etc...

RE: I did...there were also a couple of others.

Kaepernick...was IMHO the most athletic guy in the draft and possessed enough tools in the passing game to say that he might be a Steve Young type player.

I also would not have been upset about Gabbert, Mallett or Stanzi at the time.

Yep. For Simms, it was his uncanny accuracy. You can see it from his 55.4% career completion rate! He didn't need Lawrence Taylor and Bill Bellichick.

Come on, DRF. RT has the talent; he just needed a better understanding of the game (that's where Lazor comes in), a better supporting cast, a better defense (until the Denver game, he had that), and a coach who knows how to use RT's strengths (again, Lazor).

And I say again, RT CAN throw the deep ball, and he has done so over his three years in Miami. He just isn't consistent with it, plus the majority of times, Wallace is his only target for the deep balls. Let the other guys go deep on occasion, as Hartline has. Some of those passes were completed, and don't give me the receiver was only 20 yards down the field and he took it the rest of the way.

Although I am not giving RT any excuses, it is possible that he is having trouble judging Wallace's speed. That is something Lazor and Marino should be helping RT with.

I haven't seen that many Miami games this year, but what RT should be doing, because Wallace is so damn fast, is take a quick drop then let it fly, with some air under the ball. Let Wallace catch up to it.

My view of those two guys is that their timing is way off. Hitting the deep ball takes a lot of work, unless one is gifted, ala Marino, Rodgers, etc.

RT is not gifted in that department; it takes work. If RT could connect on at least one or two big ones, per game, it would go a long way in building confidence and loosen up the defense.

In the meantime, we all need RT to keep connecting on the short to medium passes to keep the Fins on the move.

OK. Treasure has always loved Dan the Man. I think his point was that despite that love, he'd trade him for a SuperBowl, i.e., he'd trade him for Elway.

Even a Pats fan comes up with something every now and then smiling bouncing smiley... I figured it was bad but i didn't know it was THAT bad.

I still think we go into 'hunker down and don't lose' mode when we have the lead in the second half (AS WE HAVE HAD FOR THE LAST 5-6 GAMES) and THAT is most of our problem late in games.
