No offense, Sir, but Kuechenberg was like 254 lbs., those guys would get killed in todays game.

BUT, if you are hypothetically insinuating the protection they gave, yes I would tend to agree.

RT17 is not a pocket passer. Don't think he will ever be. Not sure its really a terrible issue either. Just have him move around a little bit.

I think Chyrene meant the equivalent to todays players. In the 70's Griese had the best. In the 80's Marino had the best. Both played behind Superbowl caliber offensive lines. Tannehill has the equivalent of a subpar high school team. Its better this year but far from adequate. Last sunday against the Jags Defensive players had clear wide open paths to him. Untouched. It was pathetic.

He's got 4 drops this year, 2 last Sunday which was one of his worst games I can remember

LOL at the fan boy comment, I think it's pretty evident who gets a chubby whenever Tannehills name is mentioned......and I'm not talking Mrs. Tannehill

I can see you're going to the school of "Chyrenb" on how to distort facts to prop up your argument. He was paid in March of 2013, after which he put up 76 receptions for 1000 yrds and 4 TD's last year

I tip my hat to anyone that does your line of dangerous work, I only used your car as an example of how irrelevant Hartlines car is to his recent troubles. I would imagine his hot ass girlfriend is WAY more of a distraction then that car is.

You might be right, especially in Miami, I suspect if things don't turn around soon for him and with his large contract, he could become a June 1st cap savings cut.

Hartline doesn't even need to be a post June cut. He has been paid all his guaranteed money and will cost us nothing to cut him in 2015. It will save us 7.35 mil. Not good for him.

Something is going on with Hartline but I don't believe it's effort or work ethic related. Lots of things to consider.

OK. But then they need to sort it out or bench him.he can't continue to drop perfectly thrown passes.

I can't agree with ya, Chryen.

When he started out hot vs Chicago, how many of those passes were while on the run?

RT is just fine in the pocket, when there is a pocket.

I have also seen on this message board people complaining that RT stares down his receivers. I disagree with that, also. I've seen him go thru his progressions, often times hitting his 3rd option. The Wallace TD vs Chicago is a good example.

Can RT improve? You bet, just ask him. But give him a good pocket and time, he will hit his guys.

He is not Marino, but he is doing well; just needs a little more help around him.

I agree 100% cap! The fact is he hasn't had a pocket ever so of course he is better on the run. He can do it all if we give him the tools to do it. Tanny might just be the best all around QB in the league . Run throw and throwing on the run. But lately its just been all run because he has no other choice.

SIGH. We wasted Jake Long's best yrs on Chad Henne. sad smiley

Can't agree with you, Cap. Even most posters on this board agreed that in the first half of the Bears game, Tanny ran the read option so much that it had the Bears wondering what would come next. In the second half of that game, not so much but the job was done. The Bears were still shaken.

In the Jags game, there was a very little of the read option in the first half but our defense was doing the job for us there.

And I agree Treasure, he could have a better pocket but there are times when he has that pocket where he does not show the same DEADLY ACCURACY as he does on the run. And remember, he's hitting a receiver in full stride when he himself is in full stride.

But with folks telling Philbin he's doing fine, things will never change.

Hartline is great at his job. Takes a WR and a QB to make a duo,
just sayin.....

True. Last week the QB showed up and Heart dropped everything like it was a hot plate and he had no gloves. 2 were absolutely perfect throws.

Hartline, may be experiencing difficulty with the new system. Maybe, or maybe not. He certainly isn't the "go to guy" as he was under Sherman, and is now fast becoming merely a footnote WR under Bill Lazor. When someone doesn't feel special, something is lost in their make-up. His foolish end zone dance, may have been a form of acting out his positional demotion.

If Lazor was to feature him more, my guess he'd make more catches. I'm not excusing his drops, but do understand how some people act when they are demoted. Their performance suffers. When more is expected of them, when they feel more important, have more of a role, more good things seem to flow from it.

the QB showed up LOL

Throwing a pass at a guys shin is not showing up, and certainly not a drop.

I guess the pass 5 feet over Clays head was a drop too, LOL

That's actually the scary part, because, the Offense isn't going anywhere. If he cant succeed in this offense, then, welp, he really doesn't have a place in it.

Do you understand that the offense moves Wallace around a lot to make him the primary target or read on plays.. The pass offense is trying to run through Wallace... IMO, the lack of Hartline involvement really has to do with Lazor... As Lazor himself said about Clay, it is my fault I have not been able to get Clay more involved that is on me... Same thing applies to Hartline... He didn't have back to back 1000 yard seasons by chance... If Lazor isn't including him in game plans as he should, that is something Lazor needs to work on... Where is Gibson, he was great last year when he was healthy, non existent this year... So Hartline, Clay and Gibson all magically turned into garbage on their own in one offseason? I think that is foolish talk, obviously it is the system, game plans and offensive coordinator who has failed to get many of our players involved, which has hurt our offense...

Cant speak on the rest. You make some good points. But regardless of the "system" Hearline missed perfectly thrown passes he needed to catch. Its that simple. catch the Fing ball like your paid to do.

Didn't some people and the so-called "Experts" say the same thing about our CBs and the taller CHI WRs not so long ago?

And IS the SD "D" really "good enough"? In the times I've seen SD in the last 3 years, its "D" looked like pisswater. Has something changed? Or is it just a fluke that their "D" looks like pisswater (or maybe horse manure) when playing on National TV?

Look at the Chargers schedule. They have beaten the same bad/medicore teams that we have beaten. Oakland and the Jags. There barely beat the Raiders. They also beat the Jets and lost to KC, the same team that beat us. The other loss is from AZ and a win at Seattle but as we all see now, they are not the same team as last year.

It will still be a tough game because of Rivers but the team is coming off 2 losses and is about as good as Miami. Nothing more IMO. Rivers is playing great and will be our biggest challenge.
