Give me Mike Shula or Mr Harbaugh. Some people on here just do not get it. They see a few good series in a game and go "oh man we are so close" it's not our teams fault it's because Arron Rodgers. If you want to keep making excuses go ahead. For the rest of the real world . We washed our hands of this shit and moved on. There is no @#$%& way this team makes playoffs . If you want to be apart of this roller coaster ride ending in a swift crash into a cliff. It's your blood pressure. I refuse to watch unless primetime. What's the point? Especially in the first half of games . There is Zero point to watch that garbage week in and week out.

Exactly...heard the 'so close' nonsense for to long now. If your an up and coming young team (as some seem to think we are)...it means, well...you ACTUALLY IMPROVE. Look at our record and results since 2009...every year is like ground hog day! As well if you have young, hungry players that are the real deal they dig in and WIN a game at home like yesterday Arron Rodgers or not!

Actually the fake spike was a DUMB call had our guy done his job! Marinos was to the end zone. Had our DB DONE HIS JOB AND tackled the guy IN BOUNDS!!! The game would have been over because Rodgers was trying to be cute!

All of this starts and ends with coaching. We had the greatest coach of all time well deff top 10 with very non complete teams yet he managed to get them into post season all the time. He had our boys prepared. Guarantee you if he coached our players now we would be undefeated right now. We have what 7 8 pro bowlers on our roster maybe more? Holy @#$%& man coaching is our Achilles heal.

The sad part is that we don't even have one coach on the team capable of taking over. Coyle is going down hill fast and losing his players. They played well despite his scheme. Still had 7 missed tackles. 4 by DB's. They just could not tackle Nelson or any other WR. Still playing off coverage. No way in hell Wheeler should have been in the game on the last play. Should have been a nickle defense where he leaves the field. Should have had a safety covering the TE. Not the worst coverage LBer we have.

How about Lazor? Does he get any blame for the offensive woes? I say yes. He has not had the offense prepared to play this year.

Hartline and Clay are M.I.A. Wallace is not a #1 receiver. He's good but not a #1.

Philbin has terrible instincts and is not cut out to be a head coach. Terrible game management.

We are basically behind the 8 ball because when he gets fired, everyone has to learn a new offense and defense because the entire staff will be gone.

Case in point, TannyDaMan is one of those that think coaches are the be all and end all of everything.

He's wrong, IMHO.

Coaches are undoubtedly a factor and things that they do can have a remakable impact on how teams play...but even with Shula and his admittedly renowned and world class abilities as a coach, we were mostly unremakable during his last 10 seasons. Even though during that time we were in the playoffs four times, over .500 nine times, and won the division twice. Then factor in the fact that during those during those years we had the benefit of one of the all time greats leading the team at QB...and yet our average finish was 9-7 and we were below .500 in the playoffs despite advancing past the wildcard game twice and getting to the championship game once.

We've been in a funk as a franchise for quite a long time. It's just been absurdly bad since 1995.

The past two seasons have NOT been absurdly bad...just absurdly inconsistent. That is actually an improvement. We've got to stay the course and take care of the little things, that become big things, on each and every play...that has to be emphasized by the coaches, but actually DONE by the players.

When nfl beat writers, teams own players and fans all acknowledge terrible coaching costing us games. It is what it is. Obviously you never played not coached football before. I have both! Yes not NFL, but I had my team prepared on game day and made adjustments when needed.

Agreed! This is why I'd like to see us hang on to Philbin and give Hickey another year to build the team. Parcells and Ireland did a whole lot of damage to our team talent. A few years before that Wanny decimated our offense. That's a whole lot to dig out of.

BTW: I know we all hated Randy Mueller and thought he was incompetent, but he drafted Brandon Fields (our current punter), Samson Satele (our current starting center), and Paul Soliai (who isn't with the team now, but was a solid NT for many years). That was our 2007 draft. Interestingly enough, not a single player remains from our 2008 or 2009 drafts (where Parcells made most of the drafting decisions). So much for the big tuna being a drafting guru.

Our D plays off the ball because they can't afford to give up a long score. They can't afford to take chances when the offense is so inconsistent.

Our D played with a lead twice this year and were more aggressive. You can't be too aggressive when you have to be nearly perfect to give your offense a chance.

Our pathetically inconsistent offense dictates what we do on offense.

RE: Well that just shows how much you know. Making completely uninformed statements gets you zero cred. For the record, I did play football, WR. And if you have read many of my posts you would also know that I completely acknowledge coaching mistakes. Philbin has made quite a few, but in the end the players have to get it done and make it happen...ours have simply failed to do so far too often and at critical times.

After all, the coaches don't snap the ball, block, throw the passes, take the handoffs, run the routes, make the catches, commit the penalties, miss the tackles, take the wrong angles, give up on plays, hold onto the ball too long, trip and fall in coverage, or any of the things that actually lose teams games ON THE FIELD.

None of this minimizes the role of the coach or the profound effect one can have on a team...but let's be for real here. On game day the players play and thier play alone, whether good or bad, 95% of the time determines who wins or loses...not whether or not a timeout is called.

But ken they had no timeouts on 4rth and 10.... They had to hurry to the line and call a play real quick or take a 5 yard penalty...

That would had been 4th and 15.

Then the dolphins call a timeout and give them all the time in the world to talk about a play....

They had the rope around their throats and we let them off the hook.

That was definetely not a good call on philbin.

One play or a coaching decision can be the difference between winning a game or losing a game.

RE: I agree it was a poor decision, and never said that it was otherwise...just making the point that there were many reasons, most provided by the players, that ensured we lost, not just the time out's.

Ok but after all the bad plays we made, we were winning at the end.....

All we needed was some guidance on the last few plays....As far as the timeouts and play calls..

THere were definetely some bad plays called on the phins last drive...And the timeout thingy just put the nail on the coffin.

We'll see in the next month what Philbin is made of. If the team continues to play hard and does not quit. Even though we have been pretty lethargic in the first half so far...we'll know.

I have no more time for him to say " I have to do a better job". Do the right thing and resign. He is not head coach material. For instance when they where on Hard-Knocks, all I remember of him is picking up garbage off the field. Somebody get that man a dustpan and broom!

Bottom line is to ask how can the players overcome the calling of a timeout.

RE: and him resigning is supposed to help the team, turn around the season and allow us to make the playoffs this year? I can'y believe you are maligning him for telling the truth, he does have to do a better job...as do the players and eveyone else.

The aggravating thing about this loss in contrast to the Buffalo blowout is we let this one get away. Against all odds, we pulled out a defeat.

This is my first post since halftime last sunday. I'm still almost speechless at the way we lost this game. So many great things in this game. The blocked punts. Luandry's plays, Cam Wake.....yeah Tanny threw a few into traffic, but hell if he didn't make up for it!

But this coach...Joe Philbin just leaves me aghast at how he ever got picked for a head coaching position. I was so pissed the last time he pulled the rug out from the team 2 minutes before the half of the Bills game. Now I'm just scratching my head and can't find one reason why he would call 2 timeouts against a team who is on the ropes and floundering. WTF did he personally singlehandedly let Aaron Rodgers win this game? Old time sake or is he just a Fing moron? I'll go with Fing Moron.......

GO DOLPHINS!!!!
