Tannehill did better against Oakland because they finally got him OUT of the pocket for more plays. Made him harder to defend and made passing easier for him for the very same reason.
Tannehill didn't have much experience to begin with, and he's immediately anointed as a franchise QB as soon as he gets his Phins jersey.
Do I think he can be coached better? Absolutely. Do I have some concerns about his abilities right now? Yes I do, but I think he could improve in time as he gains more reps and game experience.
I totally agree with everyone here that his athleticism is under utilized. He definitely needs to improve on the deep ball but I do believe that can be fixed. That along with some moxie can be achieved in time.
I do not think he should be benched. Experience and reps will help him develop better than holding a clipboard.
So what do we do about Tanny's contract next season?
And do we continue to pay Moore big bucks to be the backup?
Do we let Moore walk next year and draft some young & cheap competition for Tanny?
I'm thinking a lot is contingent on how this season plays out.
They let Tanny go , another Team gets him as he is about to explode. We suffered through the growing pains , we need to reap the benefits that this great pick has to offer. You think Drew Breeze hurt? Wait until we don't retain Ryan and we spend another decade looking and drafting shit. While we watch Ryan go on to super stardom at our expense , hopefully not to another AFC East team..........
No one has jumped ship. We just been there done this a million times. Not one dolphin fan wants to hate on any player or coach. Some of us fans have higher more immediate standards and some are more relaxed. I hope this streak continues but I know Philben. So I'll remain skeptical and just not complain until they mess up.
the couple of designed runs helped. what I was more impressed with was tanny finally taking off and making a play when his wrs were covered or the pocket started collapsing. that is what he needs to do more.
now let's see some consistency. do that 3-4 games in a row and it's easier to swallow a bad game. if he continues the one good two bad pattern then you start warming up moore.
mike Wallace's comment after the game "he even ran the ball" tells me that option is there and it's up to tanny to make the play. the coaches aren't forcing him to stay in the pocket.

Yep. I'm a closet Steelers fan also......but my second favorite Team is who ever is playing the Bills, Jets and Pats.
I can't say I have a second team but I guess they are kinda the 49ers, who my nephew roots for and the Redskins, who my sister and that nephew roots for.
The only other Team I have a real distaste for besides those in the AFC East of course , is The Dallas Cowgirls. JJ just really rubs me wrong about what is wrong with professional sports. WTF does ANY team owner get the privilege of calling his team "America's team? And why do certain teams always get to play on Thanksgiving? F Them.

True but don't under value it either.. The raiders came into that game with a top 5 pass defense and our passing game thrived.. While the Raiders are not a complete team, we had a great offensive performance with Moreno hurt and Tannehill looking pretty strong spreading the ball around.
