The next 4 games will determine what kind of team we have. Packers, Bears and Chargers.
If tanny can parlay that Oakland performance into quality outings the next 4 weeks the sky is the limit. I see us beating GB, Jax and SD.
That would get us to 5-3 at the midway point. Tannehill has to be more consistent and our offense has to be balanced. If we do and can play with a lead then the D has a chance to be more aggressive and create turnovers.
3-1 during this stretch we're heading in the right direction 2-2 we the same inconsistent .500 team. 1-3, 0-4 and it's house cleaning time.
Lots of high powered passing attacks to deal with this year.
GB, Chi, SD, Det, Denver.
PFF has us ranked as the 16th best o-line in the league so far. I can't wait to see what they do with Pouncey back in the lineup. We could be a top 10 (OL) unit with him and some other guys getting healthy. We are already 5th in rushing yards and haven't even run the ball more than 24 times in a game. Miller as a starter is only getting about 15 carries per game.
You have a top DL and OL and you can compete with anyone. Look at what Dallas and Pit have done with the rebuilding of their o-lines. All the teams with the best records have good o-lines.
Now our coaches just need to learn how to utilize the running game instead of abandoning it!
Week 1 Moreno 24 carries. 32 pass att WIN
Week 2 Miller 11 carries. 49 pass att LOSS
Week 3 Miller 15 carries. 43 pass att LOSS
Week 3 Miller 12 carries. 31 pass att WIN
We need to run early and often. Especially vs the passing teams.
The Bills scored FG's on their first 3 possessions. The first 2 FG's were all they had in the first half. That's 6 points and we abandoned the run. We ran it 3 times in the first quarter.
We started the first half with a 3 and out. 1 incompletion, followed by two sacks and a punt. The Bills scored another FG on their next possession. Now it's 9-0.
Next series we ran the ball one time and only 2 more times for the rest of the half except for 3 straight runs to kill the clock at the end of the half.
Down 0-9 in the first half. That's hardly out of control. next score was a Miami FG.
Buf 9 Mia 3. Still not running the ball.
This is when ST's gave up a KO return for a TD.
Miami followed with a TD to Wallace.
Score now 16-10. That's down by a lot? Miller did not lose a fumble in that game. Landry did. Miller averaged 4.2 ypc on 11 carries.
16-10 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter???
What followed was a TD and two more FG's by Buffalo. Then we were down by a lot at the end. 29-10

There was no score at all in the first quarter. Miami ran the ball 5 times. Thomas ran the ball once.
KC game started out 14-0 but then we scored a FG and a TD. Now it's 14-10. Next possession KC score again. 21-10. Miami followed up with a FG and then a Safety. 21-15. Two minutes left in 3rd quarter, down by 6.
Now Miller pulls off some nice runs. 24 yards and then 5 yards on next play. Incomplete, Incomplete, punt.
Next series: Sack, Miller for 7 yards, Miller for 9 yards. Incomplete, sack, punt! Still down by 6.
McKnight TD, 2 pt conv fails. KC 27 Mia 15...4:39 left in the game. Down by 12.
KC scores another TD with 13 seconds left.
The problem here was that Miller was running the ball effectively but they only fed him the ball 15 times! He was ripping off chunk yardage at 7.2 yards per carry.
6 penalties on Miami but no lost fumbles, no int's. 1 missed FG and terrible punting in this game. 32 yard avg. Little protection for RT. 4 dropped passes at inopportune times.
7.2 ypc and you run the ball 15 times? Even Thomas averaged 7.5 ypc. (voice of Chris Carter) Come one man!
Cornerback Cortland Finnegan (neck) and wide receiver Brandon Gibson (hamstring) both practiced on a limited basis after being out Wednesday.
Linebacker Jelani Jenkins (abdomen) also was a full participant in practice after being limited Wednesday.
The only negative difference on the injury report Thursday involved running back Lamar Miller (foot) appearing as a limited participant after not being on the report Wednesday.
Limited Thursday along with Finnegan and Gibson were LB Koa Misi (ankle), RB?Knowshon Moreno (elbow), C?Samson Satele (fibula), G?Shelley Smith (knee), DT?Randy Starks (back), WR?Mike Wallace (foot)?and LB Philip Wheeler (shoulder).
Along with Jenkins and Miller, T?Branden Albert (shoulder), TE?Charles Clay (knee)?G?Dallas Thomas (shoulder)?all were listed as full participants.
The only chance this team has of turning the season around is of Philben gives total reign over offensive play calls to our Coordinator and stops playing safe. Seeing how one has a better chance at playing pick up sticks with ones butt cheeks rather than that happening.
The identity of this team has not changed so this is what will likely happen.
We will go on a winning streak and beat one or maybe two tough teams, get everyone fired up....and then go on a losing streak to end up mediocre again.
