Tackle may drop....

Based on higher needs for the teams picking ahead of us.

This is just a theory but as I was doing another mock on "predict the pick"....

1 Houston: Jadeveon Clowney (consensus)

2 STL: Greg Robinson (consensus)

3 Jax: Sammy Watkins (Manziel doesn't want to play here? moron - have fun in.....

4 Cle: Johnny Manziel (Brian Hoyer nuf said)

5 Oak: Mike Evans (biggest impact for their team)

6 ATL: Khalil Mack (Thrilled to get him - perfect fit for Nolan. They just don't take lineman high and are stubbornly behind Sam Baker as LT)

7 TB: Aaron Donald (Lovie's favorite player)

8 Min: CJ Mosley (need a defensive leader)

9 Buf: Eric Ebron (big need- no value for a RT this high - set at LT)

10 Det: Justin Gilbert (huge need vs Aaron Rodgers, Cutler)

11 Ten: Blake Bortles (too good to pass up for fragile Locker)

12 NYG: Jake Mathews (need a LT - could be Lewan)

13 STL: Darqueze Dennard (better value than safety - no #1 WR's available - Should have taken Watkins at 2 and Lewan at 13.)

14 Chi: Kyle Fuller (No DT's worthy, Mosley gone, value over safety/need pick)

15 Pit: Anthony Barr (defense stinks, CB's gone, no DT's)

16 Dal: Calvin Pryor (see above)

17 Bal: Zach Martin (Ozzie's choice of better RT unless Mathews drops instead)

18 NYJ: Odell Beckham (glad to get him here w/o trade up)

19 Mia" Taylor Lewan (Zach Martin possibly depending on pick 12)

20 Who cares!

solid predictions at most every spot. However I disagree there is no way Taylor Lewin (or Martin) falls to us. I don't see 3 CBs going in the top 18, so swap 1 or more of those for another OT.

OK but what if you add in another QB like Bridgewater or Carr, WR, FS as is predicted. Could also be a LB, like Shazier. Maybe even a DL.

CB value increases when there is only 3 top tier and teams with big needs at the position. Many have also said that other CB's may sneak into the first round.

Should be a good one at any rate.

I am hearing that Lewan is ranked higher than Mathews. Better run blocker and technician/more athletic. Said he would have been 1st lineman taken if he came out last year...so that means #1 OA. I agree he won't likely drop.

No one said to draft a QB. I said IF another QB is drafted then that's more other positions that drop to us in the draft.

Last year Guards fell at picks 7, 10 and 20.

In 2012 they went at 24 & 27.

I would not be upset if we took Su'A-filo but I would rather trade down a bit to get him.

Martin is now included as one of the top OTs in the draft. All four are projected to be selected in the top 15, if not the top 10.

No way Lewan drops to us.

If Miami stays at 19 or trades back, they will still end up with a second-tier OT.

Stranger things have happened. OT is deeper than CB and S. Could be teams with both needs take one of the 3/4 impact Cb's or 2 safeties early figuring they can get a RT in the 2nd.

I think we have to take any of the following at #19 if they are there:

Ebron, martin, lewan.

If they are gone then we need to trade down.

If we can't trade down the we'd better hope that mosley is there.

Otherwise it's reach for Moses, kouandijio, su'a-fila, bitonio or wr.

WRONG. These are Projected Top 5 OL. If Zack Martin Falls to 19 we grab him. But that's not to say in this deep draft there is not someone as good if not better in the second and 3rd rounds.

We need Two OL. If we fell back 10 spots and grabbed an additional 2nd or 3rd rounder it would prove to me we now have someone competent running the Miami Dolphins draft.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

So I was so angry about how the Dolphins finished the season that I swore I wouldn't even chat until the draft kicks off again. So I am back. Here is what will happen. We will managed to trade back and we will select Morgan Moses. He is an intelligent guy and Lazor knows him well. We will have bookend Hoos. He is also from my area. Having said that, I am really intrigued with Ryan Shazier. Our defense would be deadly with a guy like him in the mix.

Welcome back JT.

I'd like your scenario if it plays out. I'm not sure how much we like Moses though. There were reports earlier about him and Lazor not getting along when Lazor was at UVA.

CBS must have a spy. 5 minutes before it was announced Ryan Zhazier name was there on the Steelers pick on their Draft tracker. Who knows if that happens again when 19 comes. Happened with the Jets just now. Welcome JaWuan James

Wow if rather have drafted maziel at 19. Just topics off the team that did not want to trade up. I mean 5 th tackle taken at 19 overall? Sigh he will be just a average rt nothing more nothing less. Deff not worth 19th overall.

Hickey would have been run out of town on a rail if he'd have taken a QB in the first round...

3rd round, I could MAYBE see that depending on the player in question, but absolutely no higher for a backup.

Not the point. Maziel was coveted by a lot of teams and if we picked him up we would have made a trade. That's my point teams then would take our trade talks more serious. Instead dicky went with safe pick. Welcome Ireland 2.0.

Maybe, but a player next year hardly helps us this year...we've got much bigger fish to fry than to take Manziel with the intent of trading him later, if possible. I say a player later, because I don't think a team that passed on him in the first place would trade away a "quality starter" to get him from us.

Taking a guy in the hopes of trading him is an HORRIFIC idea.

You lose all leverage. The best offer you are going to see is when you are o n the clock and teams pressed to make a decision NOW. Once you take a player you have no use for any other that is interested teams will make you sweat until you give him away.

If you couldn't work out an acceptable deal so they could draft him, what makes you think that you will get a better deal after you draft him?

ManZiel should have garnered us a Trade and James still would have been available. I'm disappointed not in the James Pick , but where we took him. We should have been able to work something out . I'd like to know all the details like what was offered for pick #19 and why he turned it down. #20 went lickety spilt. sad smiley

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Manziel is another tebow.....or another griffin the 3rd.

That running crap will not work in the nfl.

College is much slower game and all those college LBers are tweeners with no speed most of them.

Manziel is about to be the next tebow bust. Stay tuned and you will see.

Manzeil will turn out to be a coup for the browns. Great draft for them so far. I did not want him drafted by any means but Hickey should have been able to trade #19 to someone.

I still can't believe the Cowgirls passed on him. We had Zack martin within our grasp. Shit that was a tease.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I read...or heard on sports radio a few days prior, that the Cowboys were not projected to draft any QB because of Romo's contract.

We needed a few WR's to get drafted before us to have a legit shot at Z. Martin, I also think the Ravens would of taken him if the Cowboys didn't anyway.
