Didn't the Texans have the worst record in the NFL last year? So we have the same internal structure as the team with the worst record in the NFL and the director of player personnel from another one of the worst teams in the NFL as our new GM...
The kicker I hear Dominick the fired GM for the Bucs is up for Brian Gaines old job.... Doesnt that all make you feel warm and fuzzy about the direction and decisions under Ross as the man in charge of our organization....

That's not fair really. Houston won 12 games the year before and lost their QB to IR. He was played like crap when he had success prior. They were a very good team and a favorite for the SuperBowl last year.
There are plenty of teams with this structure.

I heard that rumor but I've seen no direct reports on the subject.
I am not thrilled with Ross either but I am curious to see how Hickey does this off season. It's not like Ross is trying to be Jerry Jones.
Hickey has never been in charge of personnel so we really have no means of judgement for him. He may have "run the drafts" in TB but that does not mean he had final say in anything. He probably just ran the day to day operations of setting up the war room, etc.
There is no way he can take the credit or the blame for Dominik's final decisions. He only made recommendations.
Who knows how it turns out? I do not like the fact that Ross slipped up and said that martin will not be back. He needs to keep his mouth shut to the media and just write the checks. I wish we had a football czar in between he and the HC and GM but....at least he is not telling the GM who to pick or the HC who to play.
the difference is in these situtations the GM isn't being asked to work with a lame duck/hot seat coach (which Philbin is--if team craps the bed next year he is gone) and the coach isn't being brought in to work with a lame duck/hot seat GM (as Ireland was when Philbin was hired).
It is the constant dumping one without the other that is so damaging---no well qualified person is going to want to be tied to someone who may be on his way out.
But hey, it's been working great for us so far, so what difftence does it make??

Way over my head, SamSam. What does "shield his own painting" mean?
