If a stud MLB fell to us in the first rd, I would like us to pull the trigger... Unless there is a stud tackle sitting right next to him undrafted... I haven't spent to much time studying prospect yet, any tackles or MLB projected in the middle to high teens of rd 1 I should check out?

I don't think there is a stud MLB in this draft. There's a TON of OT's with first round grades though.

how bout that Alabama MLB? I haven't studied up on my draft yet but he's supposed to be really good.
I think we need OL (obviously)
LB
RB
DB

in order of importance

RBs can be picked up anywhere including in FA, and we can probably get some OGs in FA as well for reasonable price

So it makes sense to pick a LB high if a good one is there. At least this new GM won't feel like he needs to keep Wheeler or the other guy to cover for Ireland's errors, though it may be costly to cut them

Borland is awesome. pure football player. always around the ball an in on the tackle.

these are the kind of guys you should want on your team.

can't think of his name but the Stanford mlb is the same. great instincts.

you are all talking about LBers when we need Oline help most of all.

yes but in the first I'd rather have the best LB than the 5th best OT, which is about how it may shake out

BPAAPON. Best player available at Position of NEED.

If the better player is gone at one position of need, don't settle for the next best at that same position but draft the best of the other position of need.

Assuming of course, both best players at both positions are gone and then apply the same method for the next best player available.

best player available.

in 2009 we reached for vontae davis because we needed a DB. the very next selection was clay matthews.

2011 we reached for Tannehill. next player selected Luke Keuchly.

I stll say do not sign Silia or Starks. This draft is chock full of good DT's. Spend f/a money on Grimes and the oline.

In the first round we can get one of these DTs
Hageman, Nix or Jernigan, Thomas.

In the second one of these guys should be there:
Jones, Tuitt, Sutton, Easley

and there are others:
Ferguson McCullers Quarles Reid Johnson

Our free agents and where they rank....

Starks, #1 DT
Clemon, #5 ranked S
Grimes, #1 rated CB
Soliai, #8 rated DT

If we sign Grimes and a FA LT we don't have much money left to address the other 6-7 positions. Grimes and Albert or Monroe = 18-20 mil per season. That leaves us about 5 million to fill 6 starter roles.

the only one i'd re-sign is grimes.

those ratings mean they're going to get paid big money because they happen to be the best availble this year.

Zack played so fast. Our LB's do not and don't hit like that either.
