We dont need a GM with total power.
We tried that with Parcells and Ireland (and every idiot before them), and it just caused a myriad of problems.
With everyone tied together at the hip, we're stuck with one person's vision and philosophy. The GM's.
When it's finally discovered that the GM's vision is flawed, it requires a complete house-cleaning, and many years to get back on track.

The way Ross is playing it, is far from stupid. Each FO position is compartmentalized. So if there is a weak link in the chain of command, it can easily be rectified with minimal disturbance within the organization.
The vision of the team's "brand" of football, will be mainly that of the Owner's(the main constant in the equation), and his team of consultants.

Ross is a lot smarter than many of you think. Surprised that the "billionaire" status doesn't tip some of you off.
Then again, not really.

Could not disagree more.

He's using the exact same system he used with Ireland and Philbin the last two years.

What you get is a Real Estate Billionaire making the decisions on HC and GM and breaking ties on anything they don't agree on.

It didn't work before, it may or may not work going forward. But I'd much rather have a football guy making those decisions.

That headline reminds me of a (very) early Saturday Night Live Weekend Update headline, as ready by Jane Curtin:

"Castro pulls out of Angola....a frustrated Angola could not be reached for comment.)

Sad news on former Philly GM . Tom Gamble's father passed away today. One of the reasons he moved to Philly.
