thats not a blunt just a cheap backwood cigar.. plausible deniability, but the bud on the table, that is a tough one to explain away...

This really isn't going to be an issue going forward. It may take a year or two, but how can you suspend a guy in Miami for doing what is legal in the states of Colorado and Washington? How do you prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the picture wasn't taken in one of those states or that a failed drug test wasn't the result of partaking while visiting someplace where the drug is legal.
Within two or three years its going to be legal in California, New York, New Hampshire and probably more states.
There's no putting the toothpaste back in the tube on this one.
The picture was location stamped or geo tracked from plantation Florida, Truth, where Bess owns a home... A lot of these guys smoke weed, but being blatantly obvious about it by posting in on social network, shows severe error in judgement.... Passing a drug test isn't to hard, as I posted above... Look what Alex Rodriguez was able to do, he didn't fail a drug test but is suspended 160 games from MLB....
On a side note it has been reported today, that the million signatures were gathered and the legalization of medical marijuana will be on the Florida ballot in November. Barring the Supreme court of Florida, suppressing it with the current court case to not allow it on the ballot based on the language in the bill...

It's just these kids nowadays. And that might apply to most of you coming from a 65 year old whose own boys are 39 and 35.
Everything they do, legal or illegal, goes on the internet.
LOL. Remember the fool that committed a burglary or robbery (can't remember now) and posted a picture on the internet of himself holding the stolen goods.
Easy bust. Easy bust. Easy bust.....and an even easier trial. Hope the prosecutor did not make any bargains.
Difficult to see Bess in a mug shot, with apparent mental issues. He was a good Dolphin, and a great rep the community. I hope he can get the help he needs to get his life straight again. Praying for him.
Sad to see this meltdown of Bess. Seems that he really needs help, I hope he gets it. So he was traded a month after he was hospitalized - that answers some questions I had.

Except for the fact that he's probably spot on with his article.
While I think there is some truth to Armando's story, I agree with the buyer beware comment more so.... The honor among thieves is a bit of a stretch, although I believe there might be a small level of it...
In the NFL, the ends justifies the means, no doubt about it.... These guys would assume steal your best player for nothing then pay you for it, if the shoe was on the other foot.... This is really on Cleveland for not doing their homework very well.... Wasn't someone suggesting we look at a personnel guy from Cleveland...after this no thanks, somebody dropped the ball.... Although maybe that is why he went so cheap, they were aware of something just maybe not the extent of it...

The Cleveland side of it really doesn't matter. And what we got for him was peanuts anyway.
The issue was Ireland. If he knew about it (which he did), he should have been upfront about it because it was going to be found out eventually.
Its one thing to drive a hard bargain because you have more leverage in a particular negotiation. Each GM has a responsibility to his franchise to get the best deal possible. He doesn't owe the other GM a fair or balanced deal.
I mean, what do you think would have happened if Bess was Calvin Johnson and we'd gotten two first round picks for him only to have him end up in a psych ward a year later and we hadn't disclosed he'd already been in a psych ward ?
Sure there wouldn't have been a penalty from the league but good luck getting a trade done after that. There certainly would have been a price to pay.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Ireland had more than a few issues and wasn't well liked around the league. It won't be hard to separate the team from the stench of a deal like this IF we hire a respected GM.
