No my advice would be to hire the best guy even if he hates Ross's guts and Ross hates his as long as you know he won't intentionally screw you up.

In his only statement on Bullygate, Ross said, paraphrased, "Well one thing I will say is that Joe Philbin is the most likeable, affable, person I have ever known."

Putting aside whether Philbin had any responsibility for bullygate or not or whether Philbin is or is not doing a good job as coach, that comment is totally irrelevant at best but shows that with Ross, his affinity for the worker is more important than the quality of job the worker does.

Yes, he can, minus one, plus whomever else declines an interview. Ross is in no worse shape than he was when he first started this process.

Right now, he is going to have his pick of the litter, and hopefully, with the proper guidance, he will get the best available and the organization will have their top man for many years to come.

No one here is arguing that the Dolphins organization isn't the most ideal situation one can find themselves, but...

What does this organization have that's wanted by others? A GM position, that's what. This could be a promotion for someone out there. This is a (rare) opportunity for someone to make their mark in the league. This is a chance for someone to right the ship and show how good they are (which would mean a very nice increase in pay).

The only "strong" area the Fins can provide is they have a team that is improving; there is talent. Now, a good GM can obtain the missing pieces and see where it leads. Gets this team into the playoffs, and guess what happens from that point on?

Yeah, there's plenty there, but Ross has to get the right guy.

Understand your concern, berk, but the "right guy" may not yet be available. We don't know what is going on in Ross' brain.

We can all only hope he has a plan.
